Read The Way of the Superior Man, by David Deida. He will help you understand this issue (work/women). Your psycho-the-rapist clearly does not (he is obviously one-sided and doesn't understand the interplay between the two).

I can see both points of view, but so long as you're happy with how you're living your life and it isn't hurting yourself or anybody else, your therapist can go suck a donkey dick.

It's all down to #2 and the balance of those three things, and it's only you who can decide the 'correct balance' of those things. You shouldn't feel like you are sacrificing one for the others too much at anytime.

Their is no defined predetermined method for deciding on this balance. In many ways, this is the art of being a 'successful' human, with my 'measure' of success being 'happiness' and satisfaction and peace of mind

IMO you're therapist was speaking in ideals not so much taking the specifics of your situation to mind with his response. You'll work it out. It sounds like you're doing ok, everyone who's doing important stuff gets anxious at times. you'll be fine, keep up the good work
