I've been with my current girlfriend for nearly 6 months. We're fairly happy, the sex is good as far as regular sex goes, we have a lot of fun together. However I am not entirely satisfied sexually given that I was previously a very active 'player' in the fetish scene and I have some very hardcore kinks on the dominant side of the fence and she's unwilling to indulge in it. I understand given how few 'vanilla' folks are receptive to the acts that turn me on the most (stuff like hardcore choking, extreme humiliation, pain, torture, mind-fucks, control play, etc).

We have good and regular sex but it really does not fulfill me entirely and I'm beginning to get very frustrated after such a long hiatus from the scene. I talked to her about opening up the relationship, she wasn't ecstatic but agreed to it on the condition that she be allowed to casually see other men as much as I'm planning on doing other slave/submissive women (I'm fairly good looking and established a popular reputation in the bdsm community). It's only fair that If I have my cake, she gets her too. The thought of her doing other men isn't the most pleasant one but it really doesn't bother me as long as she doesn't bring it in to our relationship and takes the necessary health precautions. Given my current frustration, I feel like the trade-off is worth it and I get the best of both worlds. I've been in an open relationship before and both of us had no problem managing limits, dynamics and time to make it work. There's a bit of apprehension at the possibility of it fucking up but I really don't see myself having exclusive vanilla sex for the rest of my life

What are your thoughts on open relationships, especially given the unique need factored into it? Should I do it? I'd appreciate your input and food for thought
