There’s a girl who I took on two dates. Super high interest. Her interest turned me off a lot. She wanted to talk on the phone a lot, then she invited me on a weekend road trip with her and her friends. I don’t know why but it just turned me off how much interest she was showing me, it was like desperate and it just completely turned me off.

First date she was super reserved and I wasn’t even sure if she liked me, during the date I hinted at plans for the future and she stayed completely shut. I took it is a sign that she didn’t want a second date. But second date she completely switched up and showed super high interest. Kept trying to plan future meetings. For instance I said “I don’t have shorts” because it was hot outside and I had jeans on she said “we can go to the mall together :)” then there was a dude playing guitar and she said “you can teach me guitar :)” but both times she waited for my confirmation, and said “yeah, do you wanna do that?”. It just reeked of desperation and for some reason it turned me completely off.

Well it’s been two months. I wanted to close with her but I didn’t. I was also going through mild depression so I canceled a third date and then rejected her invitation for a weekend trip with her. I guess she took the back to back rejections and me flaking on her as signs of disinterest so she hasn’t reached out or anything in two months.

Good idea to try and reconnect? Have you guys had success when you stopped seeing someone and then reached out again, but never closed?
