Depends on the tone. If they are just joking then I would laugh it off, if you get sensitive when people try to roast you it will make you seem insecure.

By getting angry, am I breaking my frame?
Depends on your frame and the situation. Listen to Patrice O'Neal.
You probably aren't like Patrice though, and you are getting angry because you are triggered, which is bad in multiple ways.
You not only loose frame you also show people what button to push. Especially women will use that in situations where they either want to distract from them being in the wrong or where they want to provoke a negative reaction from you, like shouting or insulting or even assaulting you, to justify something they fucked up. I. E she cheated and can now hamster that she's been right in doing so, since you are an asshole anyways.

It's always been my experience that the majority of people who talk to me like this are my friends, people I'm on good terms with, or a good looking woman. Very few times has it been just an asshole, but I'm going to assume it is.
There's a difference between being able to take a few hits/jokes, standing up for yourself, and feeling vengeful. To a certain extent, being Alpha/TRP is rolling with the punches and even escalating it just to prove how stupid the other person sounds (sidebar). Then there's standing up for yourself, telling people okay we've had our fun now let's quit this shit. What is worrisome is that you "do something to hurt them (not physically)". You lose frame with the anger, and the ability to influence. Physical or verbal, being vengeful turns you from a stud who is just a little too cocky (which chicks dig), to just being a bashing asshole.
Maintain frame by taking it slow. Keep the focus on the words said, not the person. Recognize when you want to lash out, and then smile. Tell them no more, and if they continue walk away. Don't hang around people not worth your time.

That's exactly my problem. I can try to handle AMOGs but when my plates or friends do that, I get mad. Thanks alot. The hardest part is learning to ask the right questions.

What exactly do you do if disrespected
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Do something subtle that hurts them. Depends on the person. I find that these kind of people who want to disrespect openly at first. They sort of start of by doing something small and build up on that. If I let them continue doing that, they will try to see what else they can get away with. I take the Machiavellian approach.

Machiavellian approach? So your saying the disrespect will grow from something small
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 9 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It almost always start from something small. People will test you to see what they can get away with. You should draw clear boundaries and make sure there are consequences if they break them. When it escalates to a point where they know your boundaries don't mean shit, you become a pushover.

What are some consequences
There's a range of ways from ghosting to exploiting their individual weaknesses. Read trp side bar, Prince by Niccolo Machiavelli and the 48 laws of power by Robert Greene. You can go from there.
