I've all of the sudden realized that a lot of my confidence stems from the nature of my relationship with the person I'm talking to. If it's a random interaction then I'm set. Confident, funny, everyone loves me. If it's the second time I'm seeing someone (or if there is potential to see someone again) then I freeze up and can't come up with anything to say. Perhaps I run out of steam acting/gaming the people around me.

This is a problem with my self improvement. It stems from my beta past-- I'm used to being at the bottom of the food chain, so some part of me assumes that if I stick around long enough I'll end up there again. It also doesn't help that I often do. My social situation is a little complex but I have the reputation of being someone that you can step on, in particular a few of my friends like to talk shit about my beta past. This means that I've had to step up my game, passing shit tests left and right to gain respect.

All in all, I have bad social skills when they are new people (this especially) and/or I'm going to see them often. Once I'm used to someone I'm good, but, as we all know, you can't get too comfortable around a girl without making a move (or at least as comfortable as I would ideally want to be for attempting to plate). This means I can game the shit out of a Tinder chick but struggle to game that cutie in class after the initial approach or moving into a new social circle after the first few meetups.

I'll probably want to start looking for some new social circles soon to be less reliant on my current one. Tips/thoughts?
