I am a 31 year old male and I had an observation about the wall today. A girl I was friends with in high school wanted to friend me on Facebook yesterday. This was by far the hottest girl in my grade. She fucked a bunch of upper class men but none of my circle of friends. I lost touch with her the past ten years (basically after college).

This isn't going where everyone thinks: she didn't let herself go. She is still attractive. However, she looks old in my eyes. This was a girl who I fantasized fucking as a teenager and now I see hotter 21 year olds on a daily basis. It is like her beauty faded to the point where her looks would have no bearing on me if I ran into her today.

I think it is two-fold: my hormones as a teenager were out of control and a 31 year old cannot compete with their 21 counterpart. I'd still rate her a 9, but she is a 31 year old 9. Her general SMV would be like a 7 at best for a 21 year old. The fucked up thing is she would probably see me as the same beta I was as a teenager and still be dismissive towards me.

I'm older too. While I'm only 10-15 pounds above my weight from high school, my hair has fallen out (started at 20). It hasn't been as bad as I thought it would be. I shave my head and women don't seem to care. I'm no chick magnet but I do randomly get hit on from time to time. Usually the woman is younger than me. My point isn't too brag but to say that it does seem like women like me more now than when I was younger and better looking (just like the girl from high school). In other words, I hit the wall too but it isn't as drastic.

Tl;dr My realization was that the wall is real for women and it doesn't necessarily mean that they let themselves go. They can still be attractive but cannot compete with their even less attractive but younger counterpart. Us men have a wall but it isn't as pronounced.
