Start creating a file on the person. Pull as much information from past posts, to social media, along with the main goal of finding a user experience of the person. It is really important that you find some type of review website where people (more than just one) talk about their experience and the legitimacy of the person. You'll want to reverse image search on google (go on google to find out how) and see where else these photos are posted. If you see a posting in a place that is geographically seperated by an insane amount of space, then there is an issue.

Basically, when someone is real, you will know it. If you're too lazy to investigate, don't bother altogether. The risk at that point is not worth the reward.
