I live in city A and travel to city B for work sometimes. Met girl in city A that was here on break from college in city B. We went out 8 times during 2 months, had sex every time from 2nd date onward.

One week before she had to leave to study for 2 months she says she has too many people to see.

I see it as huge IOD and pull back. She leaves without seeing me the last week of her stay. Texts sporadically and I respond positively and non-butthurt but keep it at 2/3.

Three weeks pass. I ping her. She responds warmly, I keep it non-needy at 2/3.

1 more month passes. I have travel plans to city B, tell her I'll be in town next week. She tells me to let me know what days I'll be there. Next week I let her know that I will be in city B for the weekend. She tells me she will be in city A from Monday until Sunday and cannot meet me in city A. I tell her no worries.

Looking back now I feel like I should have pulled back and stopped pinging her completely after she gave me a really weak excuse not to see me during her last week on the first trip. Now my frame is way weaker after I asked her to hang 2 months later and she declined.

Lesson learned: recognize signs of loss of interest earlier and stop chasing the sooner they are there.
