Backstory:

Was seeing a girl (my oneitis), for a while while she had a bf. Was fucking another girl on the side too. Girl A broke up with boyfriend, decided to give her a chance (cause oneitis, DUMB), and I stopped seeing Girl B.

Girl A knew about Girl B and was absolutely jealously obsessed with her (was positive I loved her blah blah), to the point that it eventually ruined our relationship a few months later.

Met up with Girl A a few months later, after fucking around with Girl B some more, and A finds gifts from B in my car... freaks out and leaves.

Tells me “I have problems, I know, and you’re just not the guy who can help me solve them”.

Fast forward —

Still fucking girl B, but there’s a girl (C) in my immediate friend group that obviously has a thing for me. Not trying to shit where I eat, so no moves made, just flirting, but everyone talks about how much chemistry we have blah blah, but her and I never acknowledge anything.

One drunken night out with friends she says “everyone keeps trying to pair us up and it’s just never going to happen” I say “ha okay?” She says “you’re just not the guy who can help me deal with my problems, you don’t even know what yours are”. So I’m like “I know what they are, but you’re right, it’d never work”

So... why do I keep hearing this from girls? Does it mean shit or am I reading into it?
