I'm new to TRP, and I will be reading and informing myself about it, as well as internalizing its concepts for the next few months. However, one of my biggest issues is that there are certain moments where I am not able to "behave like a normal person". I don't know if I have autism unironically, or if it's just lack of experience and/or self-awareness, given that I was the bullied one as a kid, grew up without many social skills, only had a few friends in highschool and never really belonged to a group of close friends, my closest friends being from many different circles (all of these are things that I plan to correct).

For example, the other day I was at my university and the professor asked everyone to move to the seats near the projector screen. This is not the first time we are asked to do this, and every other time we left our backpack and materials on our original seats. I did the same this time, but for some reason, I was the only one. Someone that I can consider a friend (not a GOOD friend) and with whom I have a nice level of mutual trust came and asked me "aren't you forgetting something?" while laughing. I reacted as if I hadn't done it intentionally, so I returned for my stuff and brought it to my new seat. This person told me "you really are bright" and my answer was "yeah, I know, thanks" in a somewhat cocky tone.

Are there any books or exercises on this that guarantee results as long as I follow them thoroughly? How do I own my mistakes in public when they are this ridiculous?
