After waiting for a short while I went up to her, asked for her name and then immediately asked her out 'on a date this month'.

It wasn't a shit test, you don't have any fucking patience to have a fucking conversation or build rapport with a woman or be fun in anyway, and just ask her out straight away?

What did you expect to happen?

You got rejected.

Next time don't ask someone out on a "date", and don't ask them out on that "not-a-date" as the second thing you ever say to them.

You probably 1) weren't high enough SMV 2) came of as needy (your intentions were too clear).

It sounds like your general communication between you and her was minimal if existant at all before asking her out. Take some time to talk with her and ease the tension.

Guys tend to want to brute-force their way through the tension, a.k.a "brace for impact and hope for the best" which is unsuccessful most of the time. If you execute (asking her out) while a high level of tension is in the air. She will sense it in you, and will repel from you.

Coming from an introverted guy myself, you will be much better off easing some of that tension off and executing after a little bit. If you're extroverted, you got an extra leg up with your communication skills.
