My housemates want to throw a house party where we all invite our respective friends and have a good time. Issue is I don’t really have that many friends, and to be honest they’re pretty different people to my housemates and I don’t think they will all get along so well. As weak as it sounds, I’m worried about their judgement of me for 1) not having many friends at all compared to them and 2) having friends they don’t see as ‘cool’.
Now I actually don’t really mind not having many friends. I have my mission and I’m at the stage of my life where I’m just happy going about it quietly. Yet still, I can’t help but feel like a bit of a loser because of it. I wish I truly didn’t care what my housemates think of me and my boring social life but I do. The prospect of this house party is making me nervous.
How should I navigate this?
