She has always been with him, I'm guessing she is just really friendly. She did say she will always be attracted to me, and there have been other things that stuck in my head.

She's manipulating the hell out of this guy. Saying the right things to keep him around. This is a severe case of onetis. Getting out the friend zone is a waste of time. No woman is worth all that time. Next her and get your balls out of her purse.

EDIT: Every guy that I've ever met who proceeds to get out of the friend zone with a certain chick all end up miserable. I use to be friends with a kid who spent a year and a half of his life getting out of the friend zone with a chick. They have been together for 3 years and they are both miserable. It's the most dysfunctional relationship I have ever been around. My other ex friend, did the same thing and ended up marrying the chick to get her citizenship. They are on and off, she recently dumped him again.

When girls say they'll always be attracted to you rather than just fuck you to show it (assuming they aren't a virgin and could/do fuck someone else while they're saying this to you), it means they aren't and think you're too bitch to hear the truth.

I take orbit to mean a non aggressive/explicit/sexual way of expressing yourself to a woman or not approaching her in any kind of manner that turns her on (evidenced by her not fucking you) - with a taken girl I see it as just never making a move to her, otherwise you'd be actually approaching/opening her, which seems too forward for the common beta.

Ya, I tell everyone "Don't listen to words, believe actions."

Before we got married, my husband was stuck in The Friend Zone for half a decade. I would've dumped my boyfriend in the blink of an eye for him. He simply never TRIED.

I think that a lot of men in The Friend Zone are simply too scared to make a move. And when I say "make a move" I don't mean verbally. I mean KISS ME. Make out with me. Show some initiative.

When a man in The Friend Zone tells me how he feels it's really awkward if he doesn't follow it up with action.

Did you give him any hints? Why didnt you just drop the boyfriend? (that you were using, from the sounds of it, cause u would have "dropped him in a blink of an eye")

[–]Gami_Lon -6 points-6 points-6 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Here's a few hints that I gave him:

  1. He was fucking everything in site and one of his girlfriends was a stripper. She was doing a modeling shoot once. I tagged along and got naked with her. He left because he didn't want to make things awkward for me.

  2. One time he needed some motivation to hit a sales goal at his job. I told him if he achieved his goal that I would throw a naked pool party for him. And I did.

  3. We went out at least a hundred times on what felt like 'dates' except I didn't get laid at the end. Heck I didn't even get a kiss.

As for my boyfriend, he was all too happy to pawn me off on my future husband, because my boyfriend was running around cheating on me with every girl he possibly could. FUN FACT: The love of my life, who stuck himself in The Friend Zone, had the balls to fuck one of the girls that my own boyfriend was cheating on me with. But he couldn't muster up the courage to kiss me.

The nineties were a strange decade for me.

P.S. In case anyone is thinking that I was hideous, here's what I look like nowadays, back in the 90s I looked like Kate Upton, but skinnier. (nsfw) http://imgur.com/vagDzAX

He friendzoned himself, not you to him.

Also seems to have some qualities - doing everything in sight is NOT normal orbiter behaviour.

It's a catch-22 in dating:

Early on, when you first meet someone, the man doesn't have much invested. So if he comes on too strong and drives the woman away, he hasn't lost much. (Because he hasn't invested much.)

After the man and woman have had a few days to get to know each other better, her defenses are lowered (because she's getting comfortable with him) but his defenses are higher (because he's invested time and effort, and he's afraid he's going to blow it.)

It really sucks, because a guy can't "pounce" on a woman too fast, he'll scare her off. But he also can't wait too long, because she'll lose interest.

Our case is extreme though; he was The One That Got Away and vice versa. Took us about twenty years to get it all sorted out.

What would be the proper protocol in this situation?

[–]Endorsed ContributorInvalidity10 points11 points12 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nothing good will come in trying to stick around this girl. Even if she dumps her current for him because he improves himself, she has demonstrated that she is willing to deceive people for her own benefit (she says that she is attracted to him; how many other people has she said that to?).

She's worthy of a hatefuck at best to get it out of his system. This chump wants sex, but believes that he has to get into a relationship with a girl first before sex happens.

There is no getting out of the friendzone.

[–]Senior Contributorexit_sandman2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Depends on the definition of "getting out".

In my book, it's simply "not being friends anymore". Whether it's more or less than friends is secondary.

[–]Ganadorf2 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Proper protocol for whom? The beta orbiter? Stop contacting her, grow a pair of balls, lift some heavy weights, and approach other girls. He's full stop in the friend zone.

[–]teeelo0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If Betamax boy here Alphas up, he may have a chance assuming she has her beta bux at home.

Chances are small however, I see this guy relapsing very easily into beta mode and losing her interest all over again.

Only good advice? NEXT her.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

To not invest any more time and energy in this case.

[–]2Overkillengine0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

So many issues could be nipped in the bud if more men realized they are not obligated to set themselves up for misery.

The real question(s) this poor fool and others should be asking himself/themselves is: "Am I happy with this situation right now?" followed by: "Will I be happy if this situation persists forever?"

If either of those is "No" then FUCKING LEAVE THE SITUATION!

[–]SupALupRT0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

"I am 30." literally thought it was a teen til I read that.

[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is what is blowing my mind lately. The insane amount of 30-40 years olds that just don't get even basic social interaction. I'm not talking about being BP/beta.....but just having not even the slightest understanding of relationships....

[–]SupALupRT0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

People are desperate and it makes them do stupid things. The best thing you can do to improve your dating is realize you don't NEED a woman, and have actual standards for any girl you will seriously date.
