Useful shit since the sub is being swarmed by the summer feminist brigade. It's like studying and doing homework problems to watch these angry hamsters spin in predictable ways

Yeah it's almost like all those freshly graduated Womyn's Studies graduates that come at the end of a college year feel the urge to charge onto the internet and prove someone wrong.

Shaming tactics are often used by female detractors who refuse to argue a MGTOW's points with logic.

They aren't shaming tactics, they're shit tests and the responses listed are shit test fails.

The first mistake is assuming that one can answer shit tests with reason and rationality.

Women who say things like that are obviously moronic, possibly feminist hambeasts, and likely too stupid to debate any topic which is exactly why they fall back on these old chestnuts.

The proper way to respond is to agree & amplify. You're not going to get anywhere trying to reason with someone who's stupid enough to say shit like "You're afraid of a strong woman!". Might as well have some fun with her hamster while improving your ad lib game.

They're not shit tests because women generally speaking want nothing to do with MGTOWs, shit tests are ways for women to address suitability of an interested existing or potential partner.

There is no such possibility with MGTOWs as we've taken a position of being deliberately unavailable, generally the only interactions between MGTOWs and women is that of debate over the reason behind being a MGTOW to which the justification of which is constructed with sound logical reasoning. Being capable of defending of your position by knowing how to spot fallacies of opponents is important.

MGTOWs are in the unique position of not needing skills to respond to shit tests that make us come out on top, it's simply not relevant.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Fair enough.

Why bother discussing the topic with women at all if you're a MGYOW? You don't need their validation? Why bother?

[–]greycloud241 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

feminist groups have a lot of political power. they use that political power to destroy the world. they are trying to create female superiority. many MGTOW are also men's rights advocates. this message seems aimed at men who are making arguments against harmful feminist agendas. it has nothing to do with personal relationships and everything to do with social trends.

you should be happy that there are men out there doing this. they represent your interests, and certainly are not getting laid for it.

When accused of misogyny, Russ Meyer used to just wiggle his eyebrows.

I find that logic generally angers women, so I get a thrill watching their temperature rise.

I like this info-graphic and I happen to have seen the original it was based on. As the author says they're mostly just ad hom attacks, what I'd actually advocate instead is everyone (especially every man) to actually look into several more general topics.

1) How to construct a formal argument. 2) How to spot logical fallacies in the formal argument structure. 3) Learn to make formal arguments to demonstrate your ideas. 4) Learn to spot fallacies in reasoning in others arguments.

This is life changing information, so much so that I strongly believe that this ought be mandatory in schools, just as important as language and mathematics.

Once you've learned the more general case for the structure of formal arguments and logical fallacies then shooting down ANY bad argument is possible, feminist bad arguments are just one very tiny subset of these from which you'll benefit, you should know these skills so well that using them is no different from doing mental arithmetic or forming sentences.

I first learned this stuff oddly enough from the about.com atheism section on critical thinking, a really great resource which can be found here, the author Austin Cline is an extremely clear critical thinker.

I agree. Calling them "shaming tactics" is using their words, their flawed frame. Call it what it is -- fallacious logic.

Don't fall into their trap of arguing "feelings."

[–]comefromspace4 points5 points6 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Unfortunately, you don't respond to inanity with reason, just like you don't respond to emotion with logic. Shaming tactics are manipulation and must be responded with manipulation. Trying to respond rationally will lead to an awkward discussion and even more shaming on their part.

e.g. -You 're bitter -"You're ugly" or "no i m not, wanna lick?"

[–]Gstreetshit0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Logic and emotion are the antithesis of each other. If you are in an argument with someone try to calm the situation down and have them do a simple algebra problem in their head. Something easy enough where they actually have to think about but not hard enough to force them to use a calculator. If they cant do simple algebra in their head you don't need to take them seriously or waste time on them anyway.

Doing a problem like that will reactivate their logical brain functions, then state your logical argument.

"You're afraid of..."

This is a stupid one. There's a difference between being afraid and having no desire for something. I'm not afraid of "strong" women. I just don't like them, because they think being strong means acting like a dude.

As a MGTOW (level3) I pretty much avoid anything romantic with women. Been there, done that. It's fun to argue with them online at places like YouTube.

Avoid romantic connections, and your life will be much, much quieter and pretty much drama-free.

[–]Force_Titan0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Interesting. I've never had a feminist pull any of these on me. I feel that I maintain frame and DHV enough that no woman will pull these on me because I've demonstrated first that I simply won't tolerate psychobabble like this.

I'm curious to know how you all handle these when presented.
