Somehow, our conversation turned toward feminism and it’s merits.
How? "Somehow" that never happened to me. And why are you diatribing against equality instead of teasing her about her silly views?
[–]Glenbert 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Exactly. Having things "just happen" is incredibly unmasculine, IMO.

It wouldn't have mattered. This chick was ready for a fight. Sometimes it's better not to hide or pussyfoot around just you can get laid. Maybe, just maybe, not all integrity and belief needs to be sacrificed in service of the all-important notch count.

I don't like this guy's tone, and I don't believe this story is 100% accurate
He should have walked away long before he did
[–]roflcopter78 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I agree, it seems he had a condescending attitude the whole time. Even if he disagreed with the girl he retorted with an insensitive statement.
"Men build civilizations. Women tend to them. There’s nothing wrong with accepting your role. You’ll never be equal to us, in that regard”
Even if you feel a person's beliefs are wrong, the fastest way to make the conversation end is by telling them matter-of-factly that in reality the opposite beloef is true.

insensitive statement
What's this BP shit?
[–]2jagrmeister721 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Okay......I'm not an expert on tone so I'm not clear what exactly the problem is there, but don't know how one can read this without thinking this chick is psychotic or reflecting on the double standard that women can hit, but we can't hit back. That sh*t really needs to stop. As far as walking away, it's a free country- you can say what you want. Twat has no right to freak out and start scratching the guy's face.
Can't help but think there's a PUA criticism here that from a PUA perspective this guy played it wrong. By that angle, yes he did. But as a normal human being, who's not solely concerned with 'getting the bang', he was in the right, the woman involved was in the wrong.
[–]Theige 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This guy is probably lying. The story he told is incomplete.
This isn't about being a PUA, this is about him being a twat as well, escalating the situation, and not removing himself from it when it was clearly getting out of hand

You arents supposed to says these things dummy

I had an incident at a party where it went from me dismissively shooing a girl away (while making no contact with her mind you), to her accusing me of trying to hit her and inciting the white knight instincts of some 300 lb butterball who was utterly convinced he was doing the right thing. I remained calm and left but I had at least 5 people ask me if I really hit a girl. TL;DR beware of any crazy bitch not just feminists.

Man or woman, you shouldn't argue with idiots. Especially militant idiots.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Arguing against an ideology that sees criticism as a personal attack is about the stupidest intellectual endeavor one can make..
Secondly, there are a lot of pieces missing from this puzzle. Like, how does one "happen" to turn the discussion towards feminism. And why did he indulge it, even if she was cool about it, it serves no positive outcome either way. "Hey baby, now that we smooched a bit, how about we go over some identity politics ?" - said no smart man ever. It's a NYE party, he already kissed her, is this guy's game that awful ?
[–]Clauderoughly 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I went to a lesbian friend’s house around 11pm.
That was his first fucking mistake. You never hang around with lesbians because their circle of friends will almost always include crazy feminist types.
our conversation turned toward feminism
That's when you excuse yourself, walk away and find someone else to talk to.
[–][deleted] -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I always just say "I believe in equality"
[–]BoyMeetsHarem -1 points0 points1 point 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
"Oh hey guys, I blatantly demeaned and insulted this crazy drunk feminist on NYE right to her face and somehow she started hitting and scratching me. I totally don't know how that happened!!"
Tact dude. Get some. People don't like having their noses rubbed in shit, even if it's the truth.
[–]worms_to_mooch_sex -2 points-1 points0 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Nothing to talk about. Some lady got mad and assaulted some dude who got her really pissed off with his words. Context irrelevant really, kind of works like this: WOMAN and MAN DISAGREE. MAN amplifies with words. WOMAN loses her shit and assaults MAN. QED WOMEN WHO DISAGREE WITH THIS MAN WILL ASSAULT YOU.
oh yeah and the opinions in question are hot button "us" and some kind of term for "not us"

Hold on, this is dumb the problem with this is that in a modern society we try to equalize all we can and that's usually a good thing, societal roles don't exist nearly as much and a woman can and should pursue her work if she feels the need to, but be aware of the actions that causes in male response. We are modern men, we can't go around telling people what to believe, we either mesh or don't, women realize historically men blazed the trail, but that gender role isn't enforced or lampooned upon, women although as a whole generally more compassionate don't always have to be nurses and support staff. My point here is the message take roots from history but tried to force it into a modern time
And he says you can't change that

historically men blazed the trail, but that gender role isn't enforced
That's not a role created by society. It has firm biological underpinnings. Wombs were always critical for the survival of the tribe, sperm is cheap.
We are modern men, we can't go
'Modern' men can go get pegged. Or try to grow some balls.

What a friendly person you are, this isn't an objectivism philosophy, there isn't a need to insult because someone doesn't agree with your narrow scope of being
[–]vaker 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (2 children) | Copy Link
Look, I understand it's not your fault that you have been brainwashed into this "sensitive modern man", "gender roles are defined by society" delusional BS. That's not how the world works. The sooner you get shaken out of that frame of mind, the better it is for you. Have you had a chance to read the sidebar?

Bits and pieces, I don't subscribe to a single ideology, I pick and choose what makes sense and what I've practically seen, don't you believe in our day and age, anybody can become whomever they want?
[–]vaker 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
anybody can become whomever they want?
No. How free we are is limited by the luck of our birth.
What genetics we are born with, this covers physical and mental characteristics including self-discipline, future orientation, etc. Then comes where you were born, what influences reach and form you. What opportunities are open or at least reachable for you. No paraplegic will be an Olympic figure skater, regardless how much he wants it. People born into some hellhole of poverty have a much harder time to get somewhere than a kid from suburbia.

The main mistake you've made is not calling the police.
If she called the police, you'd be fucked.
[–]AbraxianAeon 9 points10 points11 points 12 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I had a friend who called the police on his wife.... he was the one arrested.
Don't call the police.
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 12 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Any time you call the police, you're inviting armed strangers, who have the right to shoot you under circumstances they're able to manipulate, to elevate the threat of a situation.
It's kind of a negative-sum game.
