This was the most important thing you can take away from the article:

Remoff sums up her findings as follows: "Every woman responds to a man whose looks correspond to her particular stereotype of power." That is to say that women's perceptions of male looks are very much tied up with their perceptions of male status, and that perceptions of male status vary enormously from woman to woman, making them difficult, perhaps impossible, to quantify in a research survey.

In other words your value (and status) is rooted in the woman's perception. How you apply that is by scaling things up to the macro level. Want to date models? Find out what most models find attractive and adopt those elements best you can. Want to date nerdy girls? Find out what is generally found attractive to the women in that demographic and apply it to yourself. Some guys will find certain things easiers, and vice versa.

This whole thing traces back to what I called the Bell Curve Model (BCM).

The BCM:

Attraction operates on a bell curve. On one end of the spectrum are women who will be naturally attracted to you. On the other end are women who no matter what you do you're not going to win them over. In the middle are all the women who are undecided and game can win over. The amount of women in each area varies based on how attractive you are overall. The more attractive you are the easier the women in the middle will be swayed, and fewer women will be in the unwinnable category. Similarly, there will be more women in the naturally attracted category, AND their average level of attractiveness will be higher.

Your goal should be to maximize your attractiveness and then screen for women in the naturally attracted category. It's far easier to go that route than to always be fighting an uphill battle. This is essentially the MO of naturals, screening for women who already like them. They also tend to be skewed to the side of being more naturally attractive than most guys, so they don't get the negative feedback as often that causes a lot of guys not to be more outgoing with women. In other words they tend to have a positive feedback loop in life that many don't enjoy, and that positive feedback tends to be what gives men confidence, especially when we're young.
