I think it is jailed vs arrested too, but it's not terribly important for this conversation. The fact that we can even put the number of jailed victims in the same ballpark as the jailed abused, and users like /u/sirt6 who seem to be OK with this, is the real men's rights issue.

In table 4 there is a chi square value of .8 or something that appears to refer to men and women jailed. Ignoring the ambiguous text statement, that number would suggest about a 2 in 3 chance that the male number in the population is truly higher, and a 1 in 3 chance that it's a statistical anomaly and they are equal. Many of the groups (especially big ones like Komen) are terrible and are just marketing companies that exist to make money for executives. Breast cancer researcher here... While I do believe it's overfunded compared to colorectal cancer, lung cancer, and especially heart disease, breast cancer is NOT something to worry about for men. It truly is a women's health issue, and should be treated as such. 1% of breast cancer is in men. The fatality is 1%. So instead of 40,000 in USA per year, it's like 400. According to worldlifeexpectancty.com, that's about how many seniors die in fires each year in the USA.

This is actually common in many languages. For example - pink. It's not really a color, just light red. But we see it as pink because we named it. Other languages would call pink a shade of red, but would have a new word for light blue or light green. And that's a whole different color to hem as well.

Although I don't support this ideal, those are both non-issues. Retirement could be worked in like social security, you earn your retirement votes. And independently wealthy people will have investments - savings bonds and crap. Even without a high risk portfolio they will make decent money and pay some taxes. The only people that would be left out are the people who retire at 40 and live off 30k a year for the rest of their lives, but they are leeching off society anyways.

You're close to an interesting point here. In feminist countries, the government is the big beta bucks. It gets resources mostly from men, and distributes them mostly to women. This creates the environment where young women don't have to worry about securing food and shelter, and instead can hop on the carousel without any care. The only reason the wall still leads to settling with a beta is because betas are still better than welfare, for the time being.

In the US, many 'spousal support' laws are calculated based on length of the marriage. For example, half your marriage for shorter marriages. So you could get a huge paycheck, but not for long. However, if you can prove in a longer marriage that you gave up part of your career, or otherwise 'supported' your spouse's, then you can make a case that their current career is basically half your doing, and then get lifetime alimony.

Those sources actually disagree with you. There are more men than women during young ages (5% more). This levels off some time and then women outnumber in old age. The '15-64' demographic is very misleading in this situation because the male life expectancy is 63 or 64. Meaning 60-64 half of the guys are dead, skewing the statistic. I think this has to do with the whole culture of "females are victims and need our protection" view vs. "men are responsible for their own fate, and expendable and value-less". Same thing with why you rarely see female homeless on the street, they don't get disowned by their family. Also an interesting note about China in the article, how females are more the 'head of the household' there and thus do have that responsibility over them.

I have a similar good female friend. The important thing is to ensure that you are actual friends (Mine is 'just one of the guys' basically) and you don't have this orbiter relationship or uneven expectations of favors. I did have a manipulative female friend I ditched a couple months ago. She was in my circle and luckily some of the other guys saw the same thing in her.
