I have a 6 month+ fwb. Going very well. I dont see her as much the past few weeks as we’re busy. I have had the commitment dance a few times and she knows we’re not, and i told her we wont discuss it for 6months.

However today on the phone she was probing indirectly. She got onto how some people view commitment, and then about sex. She said she felt bad for me because i should be having tonnes of sex as im young.

Here is where im wondering if i fucked up. I said words to the effect of “we’re not in a relationship”. She reacts quick saying “why are you saying that”. And saves face by saying well we can both fuck who we want etc.

She gets very emotional and eventually says she doesnt wanna talk. So i hang up. She phones back, asks me why i hung up. She strts to cry, clearly hurt by my comment(this plate is really into me. I felt bad tbh) I then simply told her that i already said we wont talk about commitment for 6months, and never over the phone, and insinuating it is not happening with me now sticking to my past words.

She comes around and accepts it and lightens up, and all seems well again and she says she cant wait to hang out again.

Now im really not sure if i fucked up here or not. I may have prematurely shut down “the talk” by instantly saying we arent in a relationship instead of handling it another way.

This plate already thinks i may be seeing other chicks and asks about it a lot.
