I know what most people here say about texting only for logistics but that isn't the point of this post.

I was messaging a girl and stupidly joked she was ugly. We talked about it but I never actually said sorry. We still talk occasionally but it's much less often and more serious. Should I apologise for calling her ugly or just give her some time? It was over a week ago now that I did it.
