I had a conversation with a friend of mine today. We were talking about the idea of looksmatch. He actually hates the idea even though he is mostly blue/red pilled. He thinks that our environment dictates what we find attractive more so than our genetics. I don't think that is the case. I think its more genetic than anything else.
But he posed an interesting question. The idea behind looksmatch is that you typically see couples in the same looks range. There are exceptions of course. The question he posed was "if a 5/10 can find another 5/10 attractive. Why are his genetics interested and someone who is more attractive not interested. Its not like their genes know they are ugly".
I had to think about this for a second. Why indeed do less attractive people find more sexual pleasure in individuals with the same general level of attractiveness as them.
I have a theory. I think it has to do with the fact that at the end of the day our genes want to reproduce more than they want to reproduce with someone attractive. Meaning they will do a self evaluation and evaluate the options available in the surroundings. If there is constantly nothing available the brain will gradually lower the "threshold" of attractiveness. In order to facilitate some sort of copulation. If the standards never lowered a lot of people would simply "opt out" of dating. The way we are seeing with MGTOW. If you can't date people who you are attracted to why even bother?
What do you guys think? Is there any evidence behind looks match and has anyone ever come across a theory similar to mine.
Thank you
