(26 M) Been consistently trying to self-improve over time. Been getting out of my comfort zone in many ways (working out, more flirty with women, taking up space) but when I'm around my family I slip back into my old ways. I don't care about my body language. I stutter. I talk with my throat instead of my chest/diaphragm. I for some reason am nervous showing an improved version of myself to the people who knew me since Day 1 (effeminate af).
Been reading No More Mr. Nice Guy per suggestion by askTRP. I resonated with a lot of the things. I was always close to my mom growing up, which explains why I grew up more softer and sensitive, and with mainly female friends. The other day I went to a shooting range for the first time (also suggested by askTRP), and when my mom found out, she just seemed disappointed. I guess it takes an adjustment period for some people to see you as a man and no longer as a child?
