Is cpu sci a good career?

Start programming. I started in 1988. The field is mostly idiots. If you have any sense, you can get a job.

Here’s one thing that will seperate you from everyone else, test your code.

Here’s another, read left to right and top to bottom.

If you are given a list on instructions numbered 1 to 100. Execute the instructions in sequential order. Do not skip stuff you don’t how to do or randomly select which steps you want to do.

Breathe through your nose.

Talk in complete sentences.

Shower everyday.

Do those things and you will seem like a genius. Starting reading and programming. Get certified, maybe a degree, but just start doing.

A nice web site where people could enter their sob stories and you find related Red Pill information or past posts that might help the guy could be a new start.

Anyone that can read can program.

Personally, I got a degree in Mathematics and got a job at a big consulting company. I am an old C++ programmer. I have programmed on everything from Mainframes to calculators. I started my own company in 2005. Personally, my income has went up about 30% every year since 1988. I do not see that slowing down anytime in the next 50 years.

If I was starting again now, I would specialize in robots.

I got a B.S. in CompSci. If you stay competitive, it's fairly easy to find work. Build a functional dummy application in whatever language and framework the company uses and you'll at least get an interview.

It's not for everyone though. I personally hate it. I derive zero joy from building corporate software. I also hate sitting and looking at monitors for that long. I find it soul-draining.

I love working on my personal projects and using my skills there. I'm still figuring out what career move to make next.

Explore all the various degrees and sub-fields. There's many jobs out there that require a similar education and expertise but aren't exactly "software engineering".
