So my situation was originally posted in r/relationships, but I can't link to the background here. If you want to read the entirety of what happened that led to us breaking up, I'll post it in the comments. (Warning its pretty beta, as it was posted right when the events were unfolding).
So its been a month, and I've really been analyzing my actions in the relationship described in the aforementioned link. I'm kind of pissed at myself for how passive I behaved.
She was a feminist, and I was cool with it because hell! I have a girlfriend that has SOME political opinions, so I can have some thought provoking discussions about that shit. Man the red flags were there and I didn't see it. To be honest the relationship was completely poison, as I live in a conservative town and have had 8 sexual partners. I know that doesn't sound too crazy for you all, but those two facts resulted in me being kind of having a reputation which led to some strikeouts with the ladies. This led to a dependence on the recognition that I'm not "like that" from the girlfriend. She used this to her advantage. This was poison and it led to 8 months of being in a rut of constantly feeling shitty about myself and losing a lot of who I was and am trying to get back now.
Since then I've come to realize that, fuck that. I am THAT guy. I take what I want; and sometimes that's punching your guts, sometimes that's some furious cuddle sessions and sometimes that's romantic gestures for a LTR.
That's enough of that though, just wanted to give some background. So here's the thing, I've been lurking on here taking notes for quite a while and I've hit a point in my progression that its necessary to ask a few questions to keep on going.
Question 1: I'm currently in school, and this semester is one of my busiest yet. I go from 6 am and don't get back home until 6 pm. I've been trying to work out as much as possible, but some nights I'm so exhausted I wind up passing out as soon as I get home. Now my question is, what is a good work out plan I can squeeze in my schedule for a minimum of 30 minutes a day? I live in a small town so no gym, but I know body weight exercises are a thing.
Question 2: How do I get past my newly formed prejudices? I know I exhibited a lot of "beta" behavior in this relationship, but I feel that in particular this woman was teetering on extremely (note extremely) manipulative. I'm not a "fall head over heels" type of guy, but I'm also not void of my affections. I guess specifically my question is how do I look into maintaining my balance of not letting these past experiences inhibit my future romantic encounters while at the same time allowing me to take as many lessons out of it as I can?
These two questions have been bugging me the most. So if any of you have valuable insight that can help me in my personal restructuring, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks guys, you're awesome.
