Many people are baffled with how society seems to have become more feminized, more touchy-feely , more "emotionally fragile" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Coddling_of_the_American_Mind) while even normal "masculine" behaviors , like stoicism and sexual assertiveness , seem to be getting pathologized. I argue that it's a symptom of the current material conditions and that things are likely to become even worse in the future.

Firstly, it's worth to think about why the "patriarchy" existed in the first place. I have seen many theories from social scientists. For example, according to one theory, after the invention of agriculture, some men managed to hoard a lot of resources using their physical strength and this eventually create a patriarchal clan that evolved into a patriarchal society. Another theory says that men created an ideology of male dominance because they were physically superior and they eventually dominated women. Another theory says that the patriarchy evolved because women needed men to stay around and protect them but men also needed to make sure that the children were truly theirs. (and this eventually led to restrictions of female sexuality) Whichever theory is correct, I think it's safe to say that physical strength and masculinity in general played an important role in shaping such societies.

However, this physical strength is not needed so much anymore because of technology. Our society is relatively safe compared to the past. People blame feminism for "feminizing society", but I think that feminism is more of a symptom and that there are other material conditions behind it. Feminine qualities are simply more suited for technologically advanced, liberal society than male qualities. Masculine qualities like strength and aggressiveness are viewed more like a hindrance in such societies. I don't believe there is a way to "go back" either. Men will have to adapt somehow. Either way, be prepared for the masculine role to decline even more.
