I am posting on here as the redpill has always given me advice which has been good.

So this week I had a sick day. One this year, so two in total in 3 years. (The sick day was a Monday). My illness started around Friday night.

My main manager was away. So another manager was looking after us. As I had no means of contact I emailed in, and emailed a few co workers. Yes you are supposed to call but I did the next best thing I could do.

In my email I wrote "I am not feeling well, I have a cold, so I won't be in"

The manager replied, please call me.

I called her between the times she asked. She said why are you not at work. I said "I'm not feeling well".

She said "please eblabortate".

I replied "just feeling sick".

She said "your email says your got a cold"

I said " yes that too".

The next day I came back to work, as I didn't feel sick but still hada cold.

We have back to work interview. She says it's a bit of a flag you being sick on Monday and coming back on Tuesday. You also should of called.

I didn't say much. I signed a document which said I was sick for a day.

It's Made me really Angry that this has been.

what should I do

option 1 - do nothing. Nothing will go on my record. Only thing that goes on my record is me signing a document which says I was absent for a day

However pay rises are around the corner, and I have worked hard all year. My performance stats speak for them selves. I don't want senior manager to think I fake sick days.

Option 2 - speak to my manager when he is back in a weeks time. Explain the situation and say how the other manager is implying that I faked a sick day with no factual evidence apart from that I was sick on a Monday and came back Tuesday.

Then demand that she retract her insinuation.

I know the company policy is to call, but I had no other option but to email
