I wear glasses, and I want to grow a beard. Besides having a good physique, what else can I do to avoid the "soyboy" look?

None of these guys know what they're talking about. Glasses mean nothing. You have a soyboy look because your body fat is too high and on top of that, you have no muscle. You look weak. Grow that beard, get in the gym, don't smile as much.

When you're in the gym, do not neglect any bodypart, but make sure you're training your neck and traps. They need to be thick.

Keep wearing glasses if you need them and/or they compliment your look

Get contacts. I did as soon as I could when I was old enough (13yo) Later on I got Lasik. I refuse to wear glasses.

I wear a stubble beard with the setting on my Norelco at 4mm.

And I lift and avoid carbs.

Protip if you're going to grow a beard: don't shave/trim it for the first month or so. If it's still patchy after that, then just don't even bother. Genetics account for about 99% of your facial hair.

I would say that contacts are almost always better than glasses. Some girls have called me "cute" with glasses (one said I looked like Clark Kent...) but it was probably just the novelty of seeing me in them since it was a different look. Generally speaking they make you look more beta.

Regarding beards...

You want the following:

a good beard brush (stiff boar bristle)
lots of conditioner - leave it in for up to half an hour if your beard is wirey
leave-in conditioner or beard oil
a comb to de-tangle it, if you want it longer
wash it regularly

The above helps prevent itchy face

Grow it out, go to a couple of barbers, and get them to style it as they think best

Regarding soyboy:

don't make that soyboy face in pictures
dress like an adult, not a man-child. / r / malefashionadvice / wiki
low body fat (<=15%), and work on neck hypertrophy
