So I'm 23, male and just moved from Oregon to Huntsville AL.

I came here after I faced a crisis concerning the trajectory of my life. I dropped out during my junior year of highschool, got my GED and have been slowly making progress. Regardless of my progress, I felt stagnant back in Oregon, I felt like I wasn't going anywhere. I contacted several places for apprenticeships, tried to get into selling Insurance, tried to get into Amazon (they are big in my area), to no avail.

So I decided to come live with an old friend of mine, I've known him since 4th grade and he's been my best friend since. He moved with his family down to Huntsville nearly 3 years ago. I came down with the hopes of finding better opportunities for myself. I'm now enrolled in College for Accounting and work part time, but it doesn't feel like enough. I still feel like I should've stayed, what if I could have gotten something back in Oregon but just didn't have the patience? I was about to take a Data Center Technician at my local Community College before I left but they told me I'd have to wait before entering into the program. Well, they emailed me about it and wanted me to apply, too late though, I'm here in Huntsville. Plus, I can't seem to find better paying work because no places are willing to accommodate my school schedule, so I just feel demoralized. I could get a second job but I still would need time to devote to my studies.

Idk, I feel like I've burnt some Bridges and now I'm in over my head here. I'm just confused as to what to do now, I call my Dad and Mom and can just tell by the tone of their voice how much they miss me and want me back home. But I don't want to keep feeling stagnant, I'm tired of not going anywhere and want to start something. I don't want to keep taking 2 steps forward while taking 3, steps back.

I don't know how to properly explain how I'm feeling. Unsure about myself, I guess, idk. My friend says this is the best thing I could've possibly done for myself and maybe he's right, but maybe I'M right, maybe I AM too far over my head here. It's hard to make sense of what I'm even doing down here besides winging it. I feel embarrassed just asking this question but I've gotta talk about it somewhere.

What do you guys think? Should I stick this out? 50% of me wants to while the other half wants to go back.

Have any of you guys ever been in this situation before? If so, what advice could you provide which could help calm me down a bit?
