From some recent social encounters I have, it feels as though I lack in some areas I feel like most other people have common knowledge in, whether it is about different alcohol types, or different music, cooking, etc. I understand these things come with time, but some of these things I didn't have too much exposure with (only been the past two years that I have been going away from regular ales to trying new types of alcohol for example) and have focused on a few hobbies and that's it. I feel as though I do a good job asking questions when conversations are brought up, but never feel like I am the one able to step in and give my advice/experience on it, which makes me feel less of a value for not being this wordly Alpha figure.

Does anyone have any advice on increasing your SMV when it comes to increasing your value/knowledge in these areas? Or things they have learned/picked up that have helped their social value go up? I have time at work to listen to podcasts, and a evenings to work on new skills. Thank you!
