Realize that going home would be the first step of re-enforcing a run home to your comforts mentality when anything get's hard in life, that will slowly fuck you for the rest of your life.

You need to become independent and self reliant and the only way to do that is to be alone and figure things out for yourself.

It will be hard and you will have tough moments, but if you want to build any character that's gonna get you anywhere in life, now is the time to do it, while you're young and agile.

Stick through it and figure things out, you'll thank yourself years from now when you solve and overcome your obstacles instead of revert to your comforts.

This feeling is temporary. Your mind is anxious about all of the stark change, but you'll grow accustomed to it and it'll be fine. After highschool I did a gap year and flew half way across the world to a foreign country. On my first night I felt like I wanted to cry, but after a few days you start to build routine and it becomes your new home. Just hang in there and TALK TO EVERYONE.

It's always better to give something a shot then to stay stagnant and keep asking yourself "what if..." forever.

Also, acknowledge that you are privileged to even have the option of "going back" a lot of young men don't have that option. Stick it out and find yourself.
