So at dinner my sister was giving my younger brother a lot of shit. I was quiet and didn't say anything. My parents were both at the table and didn't say anything.

So then my sister started saying to my brother how her school work is so much harder than he is (2 years difference) when he said it was hard. She said it really poorly and since I'm older than her I stood up for him. I said her name imagine if I said to you I go to a good university and do engineering and how her concerns would be invalid and make her out to be stupid.

Then she was like well you said a degree (@ college) didn't have good prospects. I said that about a degree but I actually didn't know she was thinking about it. She then said well I didn't question your choice to do engineering and I said well it has good prospects.

Then I walk off and my dad starts screaming at me saying how his siblings did stuff like nursing (which are good degrees) and how they were shit. He then starts punching the wall whilst screaming. I try and leave but my mother says no.

My question is, how do I navigate this? I didn't yell or get angry.

TLDR: I stuck up for brother and got in trouble for something I didn't do. Got strawmanned and Dad yelled at me and punched the wall multiple times (lost frame).
