Only you can decide how best to approach your sex life in college. I would say, especially if this is causing you so much anxiety, it would probably be helpful to get to know women before you consider having sex with them. Think of women you know - hopefully, if you have female friends you generally like, you can't conceive of them accusing someone of rape without good cause, because they're people with ethical principles, which is why you're friends with them in the first place.

Don't bother with sex unless you feel confident it's with someone of strong moral character. If someone's unsure, err on the side of caution. Sex isn't the be-all end-all, and it's better with someone you actually like in a situation in which both of you are confident that you want to be having it and can speak freely.

False rape accusations are like shark attacks. Highly unlikely, but still an incredibly dangerous event if it happens. Like shark attacks, there are behaviors that can help lessen the threat; don’t swim with blood/alcohol in the water, swim only in netted/committed beaches, etc.

Keeping records of all written communications is a good idea; no real cost to you, and they can actually protect you (Paul Nungesser and Liam Allen are two high profile cases).

I think the problem with this is that women don't actually realize that men do quite a lot not to be accused.
