Aims: I am going into monk mode to achieve the following goals

  1. Obtain my bachelor of Computer and Network Engineering, With Honors
  2. Get my body fat less than 8%
  3. Develop a regular lifting program
  4. Do all this before I am 42 (currently turning 36)

Background

I have been working in IT support for the last 15 years, a lot of which I was kind of beta. Now I am seeing the IT island burning and sinking as more and more of the work I used to do being outsourced or pushed to "the cloud". I have always been fascinated with engineering and science but prior attempts to get a degree were destroyed by beta-ness and a previously undiagnosed neurological condition.

The condition was diagnosed about 10 years ago, but a whole heap of other things got in the way, or at least that is what I told myself. Well I am now in a position to do the course I have always wanted to, and finally be able to be a proper engineer and work in an environment with job security and is currently (mostly) free of female bullshit. My other option was to become a business project manager, but I have seen the nightmare of that, with useless female PM's everywhere. Easiest way to get away from them is to outrank them, or have core skills that are valuable rather than just become another disposable PM.

So wish me luck TRP. Without the aid of the discourse here, I don't think I would have had the guts to do this. Also thanks to my supportive Queen, who supports her King no matter what.

I enrolled in the course yesterday, and I will be using my next spare money to start down the lifting path by starting stronglifts, starting after Xmas.
