This reminds me of probably the most "natural alpha" guy I know, self made wealthy, almost-Olympic swimmer, successful MMA fighter, easily the most intelligent guy I've ever met, and up til last year was strongly anti-drug.

Sure he'd get drunk, blitzed and crazy etc, but no drugs, no pot, no nothing like that and if he thought someone was into that, he'd harass / exclude them from his circle.

So imagine my surprise last year when he posts on facebook a detailed account of his trip to the rainforest in Brazil where he did a native-style Ayahuasca trip.

I later talked with him about it and he described it as a transformative experience.

To me, the Redpill aspects are tangential at best... I mean, tripping on psychedelics can be fun for the right person I suppose, but what's it got to do with human mating strategies? Not much, really, except in the context of men becoming, or seeking to become, all that we can be, to know all that there is to know, to understand more.

In that context and based on my friend's reports, I'm considering a trip of my own sometime.

Pain and anger is important information, it's a symptom. Do not medicate the symptom - treat the cause.

You wouldn't want just your toothache to go away, you'd want to get the tooth fixed.

Your post was thought provoking. I tried therapy(worthless for me) i tried ssri(same) its interesting you bring up the self knowledge because i took these trips alone and were exetremly introspective. Who I am .... who I want to be. It helped me take a deep look at myself without the rose colored sunglasses. I wish I could articulate this better but im not suggesting that people get blasted on lsd all the time but more that it can be used as a tool particularly for soul searching. Its like I was reminded how to feel.

Most therapists are garbage who advocate "forgive and forget" bullshit, they don't even understand themselves.

It's like I was reminded how to feel.

A good therapist should make you feel safe to feel and help you figure out your feelings.

Anger and pain is good, but to grow, you must understand where it comes from, what does it mean.
