We already saw this. Wazzup had a clip like this asking us to discuss.

What am I supposed to think about this? Divorce parties are a symptom of our failure to keep commitment? That people spend their money on silly things? That there's always going to be someone willing to collect that money and in the case of divorce make it sound almost desirable?

Seems kinda pointless imo like huge weddings, but hey if you have the money....

Can't watch video but googled them and found this article. Logically, it seems like it saves money and the relaxed atmosphere allows for a more amiable split, so it's not a bad thing.

Still, I kind of feel like these sort of things contribute to the normalization of divorce, which is a good thing in some ways (i.e. less stigma against divorcees) and a bad thing in others (i.e. it encourages people to not stand by their partners during tough times.)

I see it as people cashing in on people in pain to be honest. I have some very strong mixed emotions about marriage. I see marriage as a need in order to make society strong. It creates stronger families and raises children in a better way than the alternatives.

On the other hand our culture seems to do everything it can to make marriage into a bad thing and offers incentive after incentive for divorce. I feel that it is not in men's best interest at this point to get married anymore. On a personal level that is. On a societal level though that mindset is killing us.
