Hello, I'm soviet_army, and I'm going to go on quite a rant here about a few topics. Don't worry, I think anyone (blue, red, purple, green, whatever) should both be challenged by the time this post is finished. So here goes:

I often see feminists arguing that you should try to imagine being in a woman's shoes. Actually, The Feminine Mystique starts itself by sparking your imagination. The idea of this is to evoke your sense of empathy towards their plight. But what is the value in this? Is there value in empathy? There is value, but any view derived through empathy should be treated very skeptically. And why is this? You, the individual, sitting in your chair, are you. You are all you ever can be. You can't ever be in someone else's shoes. You can't experience the same emotions. Ultimately, you're only drawing from your own experiences and projecting them onto the other person. It's actually quite narcissistic. Now, be cautioned here before getting angry: I'm not saying empathy is worthless. I'm saying you should be properly skeptical of attempts from other people to make you empathize. Empathy can lead to real actions, and anything that can cause action in the real world is a means of manipulation: people can and will abuse empathy to achieve their end.

So why does this matter for pills, men, and women? Well, men and women really don't know what it's like to be each other. I can't think in a woman's brain and they can't think in mine. Maybe, if we were to switch, we would find drastic differences or few, if any. But you can't avoid this limitation of experience, and ultimately this takes me to another point: male feminists. Often times male feminists (imagine some of the extreme and ridiculous blue pill views you see) have very strange and fucked-up views on things, and this is because they are men. They aren't able to be women, to experience the world in the same way, so they rely on this constant reaffirmation of the visceral imagination about abuse.

On the other hand, a complete lack of empathy is also a demon. If you never were able to understand another's plight, you would be as miserable and alone as many of the members on TRP, or maybe worse. So what I'm saying to you on empathy is this: be cautious around empathy, because it's not always possible to tell when your empathy is misguided or is dead accurate.

Equality is my next topic. What is equality? How do we make sense of it?

Let's begin with the simple view: that men and women are equal, either at birth or something, and are socialized to be different. Okay, I think it should be clear to a majority of us that this view is based in utter insanity and denial of reality. I won't dwell on "proofs" for men and women being different, because this point to me is self-evident.

So let's move to the more tricky aspect of equality: equal treatment, both societal and under the law. Most people seem to think that equality is the desired goal of some sort. Why? Well, the problem comes from how we as humans reduce the world around us: radical equalitarians reduce the world into symbols and mechanics that make their own desired goal (equality) possible. I remember reading the abstract on a study someone posted on here a while back, that claimed "with equal access to education, women score more highly". Whoa. That seems like a powerful criticism of male power, right? But is the conclusion of the study flawed? I would argue that it is, and the problem lies in the idea of equality.

So men and women aren't equal. I can't say how and why they are different, or the limits, but I think it's obvious that we are. So how then, can there be "equal access" to education? What does this term mean? Doesn't it seem to follow that if men and women are different, then they will have specific different needs during development? "Equal education" only seems like a logically desirable goal if all of the students being educated are equal, right? Ultimately, the problem comes to how the study reduces "educational opportunity", and some trivial and debatable interpretations of equality.

So how do we make men and women equal? How do we fix inequality in society? Well, frankly put, we can't, simply by how the world is and how we understand. Even saying something as simple as "humans" is some sort of abstraction, because to call any two people "men" and "women" is to reduce them to symbols, and you're going to inevitably lose some sort of truthful information when making this abstraction. Which is why I really sort of despise /r/TheRedPill and /r/feminism or whatever. They simply haven't recognized the futility in their own symbols and abstractions and how utterly false they have to be.

So then, what should we do? I don't know, I'm not good at giving answers. But I hate equality and empathy as they are practiced and talked about, and I just wanted to post this so we can discuss them.
