In my experience... Not easy...I dumped a LTR, then continued to fuck her for as long as possible. She put up with our for a while because she wanted me back. But eventually she did what was best for her which was to cut me or of her life. Can't say I blame her.

I think in total I was fucking her on and off for about 6 months after dumping her, but it meant continually fending off requests for us to get back together.

You don't demote them anywhere else but your mind my man, and if they stay in your frame great, and if they don't, they don't.

If you want to demote the LTR to FWB then you mentally do that, and you start treating the LTR like you would a FWB. She will either play along or she will bounce. If she bounces, you don't care, as you've demoted her to a fwb, who cares if you lose a fwb? I mean, other than the annoyance of having to fill a roster spot.

Probably not great if you still have feelings. You definitely need a new roster of plates to have the mentality to maintain a comfortable distance. Best strategy is just to fade her out, get busy or pretend to be, get bad at replying timely, go missing and then pop up at unexpected times and places. Make sure you're not taking her out on actual dates and limiting time spent together. Give her good dick but not plentiful or stick around too long after. She’ll get the idea and most will bail over time so have plates lined up and it’s a win/win.

How I do it?

With an LTR, you break up.

With a primary, she gets less time.

With a plate, she gets sex but less affection.

In the background, always new prospects, always expanding the social circle, stay in the gym, stay making money, stay on your path and purpose.

So even if you only got one chick at the moment and she fucks up, that time with her is better spent doing other shit.

One problem with fading in the background and reducing contact, guys are spending way too much time with these chicks that would never be wifey.

The real problem is that this chick is more important to guys than they are willing to admit. So they back slide....
