Try hitting on girls who are not already in your social circle. This is borderline "shitting where you eat" territory. You do not hit on a girl anywhere that a relationship or failure to obtain one will cause more drama or inconvenience than it is worth. This includes but is not limited to work, the gym, your favorite bar, anywhere you go regularly for your own enjoyment, or in a group of people where a relationship can destroy the cohesion of that group. You're trying to pick up on girls in front of a bunch of crabs who want to drag you back into the bucket. Even if you did score with her, it's going to fuck up your friendships with those guys. I don't consider that to be much of a loss considering how they are interfering with your ability to score, but you might.

You're not going to win them all. Most of my interactions end in nothing. Try to learn what you can from each interaction, but understand your close ratio is going to be low.
Just about all of your lays are not going to come from same night hookups. get phone numbers. Get phone numbers early, get phone numbers often, and as a last-ditch effort if you feel like someone is trying to cock block you, hand the girl your phone with the phone app open and tell her to put her number in. If she was actually into you, follow-up should be easy.
Never try and fight someone else moving in or a girl pulling away. Abundance mentality doesn't care if the girl leaves. only exception to this is making sure you get follow-up info like a phone number.
