Hi,

To keep it short I got a job outside of college through a friend’s mom (CEO) of the company - she referred me but I still went through 4 interviews. 52k per year salary (under average) and I’ve been here for 4 months.

I moved to another city for the job, and two months in I asked to be relocated to the original office( the city I went to college in.) they denied and gave an ambiguos timeline of 1+ years atleast. In this time I applied to a job back in that city, and got contacted by a recruiter for a job that pays 75k in current city. Also have gotten accustomed to the city since then.

Where I’m at now: I have the 75k job offer, and the deadline is tomorrow night.

Original city job pays 85k which is equal to the 75k when you factor in cost of living difference. The problem is that my third round (1 before final) is tomorrow with them.

The things that are making this decision tough: my family needs money, pay jump is huge for a fresh grad, but also it would be burning the CEO and my friend if I leave the job, but a bit less of a burn if it’s switching cities. I could turn down the 75k and risk waiting out the offer in my original city, but that could go wrong and I could end up with nothing.

Also: like a fuckig idiot I discussed this with my friend, and she seemed really personally offended that I would leave the company ( especially for the offer I have now, that’s in the same city .) Does she have the right to feel that? Things like I wouldn’t have the offers I have now if it weren’t for her or her mother, etc.

It’s the first time in my life I really feel stuck decision wise, and I would like some RP advice. Thanks.
