I work in a science tutoring lab and I have a lot of fun being there. I love my coworkers, and am especially close with one who had confided some information to me. We will call him Sam.
Sam is a good guy. He’s goal-driven, has a good sense of humor, and seems very level headed. I don’t think he understands how attractive he is to others. He has had a gaggle of women that he’s been friends with and they’ve all studied together for the past year. Sam and these women are all about 10 years older than me. He asked me a few weeks ago if he should pursue a woman in his class that was married. I told him I thought it to be a bad idea, and when I asked if there were kids, indeed, there are.
A few weeks later he told me that she was texting him explicit pictures. He said he didn’t try to escalate the situation, but he’s a man and I’m sure he enjoys the attention. I’ve seen it at work as well. He’s not saying yes, but he’s not saying no either. Her husband found out and got mad. This last week he told me that she called Sam and was crying about some of the other women in the group being mean to her about this situation. He said he didn’t understand why, and she apparently claimed to not know either.
She now is aggressively hitting on him; She does things like sit in his spot when he gets up and drinks from his coffee or tea which I find seems like some bizarre way to assert her dominance? Anyway, this woman, she’s never done anything to me, but I find myself really disliking her, almost like I know already know why the other women are being mean to her, even though it doesn’t really concern us too much.
I am developing some ideas as to why I don’t like this but I would love to hear your thoughts!
