If there's something I can still improve from your perspective, I'll look into it. But if it's something that's out of my control, I'll swallow the pill and move on. But I'm willing to still put in the work. This past year my SMV improved a fuck ton. Lost a shit ton of weight, and went from looking like a potato to actually having a visible face, wearing contacts, and some muscle visible which I'm still working on by lifting. Also worked on my fashion & grooming. I'm more assertive and have boundaries too. But, even with all that, I'm still barely average looking in the face. If you want to get an idea of what I look like, just mention it as a comment or shoot me PM, but I'd rather not include it directly in the post.
I have decent social skills with guys and can make good close introverted guy friends who tend to be real, but I suck at social groups, so it's not like I can use "social status" or "pre-selection" to mitigate the looks situation (which is from where most people pull). All the "groups" I manage to have long-term are made up of my closest guy friends who I've known for ages who are chill af and non-judgmental then I add them into a group where we hang out. There's no competitions for power because everyone is actually authentic and comfortable. There's no girls involved in those groups at all.
With my looks, I've been trying seriously to get good in social groups and going out for the past year by testing things out, "being myself", and even trying to put on a mask but nothing's worked because I ALWAYS fade out from regular social groups as an introvert. Even if I'm present and to the moment, put effort to speak more, or try to be louder with my voice. I'm just present and confident, while still fading out. My mouth doesn't function at group speed. It's strange because one-on-one I have no issues seeming confident af and flowing with convo for the most part. I've tried to get advice from my close friends but they're all good looking dudes with tons of experience who can manage to speak just enough to coast by in groups & then have their looks and experiences from looks to carry value, and it's like they're shocked that I've been unable to pull. I also can't fucking flirt for my life. I can speak to chicks naturally like I would a guy friend (in the odd times that I do), but there's zero flirting involved in that shit. And since I'm sure my looks don't give me the leeway to take those risks, it makes things harder.
I've been thinking of cold approach and recently pushed through the approach anxiety to actually have convos with two chicks, but they were pretty dry, just comfort or nervousness and no sexual tension. I get that it's about doing 100s of approaches, but I feel like with the way I look, it'll be impossible for me to pull without social status in a group, which I can't do. So now I'm stuck. I get that it might be a self-esteem issue, so I've been doing shit to increase it like working on my eye contact & body language, my purpose, lifting, self-acceptance, meditation and all that shit but the issue still remains. Because I feel like I'm not good enough for approaching, even if I tell myself "I'm the prize", it's hard to lie to yourself when you know that's not the case since you have no experience AND at your best, you still look barely average. The only redeeming aspect looks-wise is that I'm 6'0. But that doesn't do shit imo with how I look.
The solution? Either I somehow become an extrovert (I don't mean going out more, but to change the way I process social information) which I've been putting in work REGULARLY to do with no success. Or, I find a way to look better so I can still coast by with my lack of group skills which I've also been trying to do and I'm more fit and shit, but still barely fit the average looking mark when it comes to my face.
