There are two mating environments: there's Scarcity and there's Surplus. Environments of Scarcity are those like tundras, times of famine, catastrophies, etc. Environments of Surplus are those like tropical jungles and developed economies.
There are also two mating strategies, one strategy corresponding to one environment: there's the Provider strategy corresponding to the Scarcity environment, and there's the Taker strategy corresponding to the Surplus environment. This correspondence exists because in times and places of Scarcity, Providers have unmatched value and Takers are an existential threat; in times and places of Surplus, Providers have zero value due to dilution of his role and Takers can increase his agency without compromising the source that's in Surplus.
99.999% of mankind has one of these mating strategies hardcoded into his DNA due to evolving in an environment for hundreds of thousands of years that rewards one strategy, and punishes the other. The issue today is that environments are changing at an unprecedented rate. What used to be barren land 200 years ago is now the most Surplus environment ever in the history of Earth. The men who keep trying the Provider strategy in the most Surplus place and time are still behaving as if he's living in a time and place of Scarcity; there's a misalignment between behavior and context. Conversely, Takers in environments of Scarcity who won't switch strategies are also doomed.
Ideally, a man will use the correct strategy for whatever environment he finds himself in, as well as for the specific asset.

You know what is scarce these days ? A decent field report with actual content instead of rambling pseudo intellectuals overly invested in theoretical discussions.
Go get laid and provide us with a decent field report.
