Does it really matter if single women are artificially inseminated to have children? I think a single mother who busts her arse to fill out the paperwork, take tests, find donors/sperm and have a kid is going to be a better parent than the junky chick under the bridge who finds dick easier than a clean vein. The titanic is sinking, everyone is looking for lifeboats and you're asking us about our opinion on the vegetarian menu option.

There are a great number of alarming trends concerning fatherless homes. The following stats that I'm going to quote are referring solely to "fatherless" homes, meaning lacking the father or male father figure. Also important to note is that these figures come from American case studies, so it might be different in other countries that have different cultural norms.

63% of suicides for those 18 and younger come from fatherless homes. 90% of homeless children come from fatherless homes. 85% of children with behavior disorders come from fatherless homes. 71% of high school dropouts come from fatherless homes. 75% of 18 and younger chemical abuse patients come from fatherless homes. 85% of minors in prison come from fatherless homes. And finally, daughters from fatherless homes are 7 times more likely to have children as teenagers.

Obviously this shows that there are a number of life long detrimental effects to raising a child without a father's influence. If your country has this up for voting now I would encourage you to do all you can to inform others of this epidemic. The single biggest factor that can improve a child's life is having both parents help raise it. A single mom cannot do it alone without a high risk of negative repercussions.
