Sorry, I'm really new to this and I know ruminating over singular interactions isn't the way to go but I can't help it right now. I was at a bookstore minding my own business when a cute girl approached me to ask for some advice.. she's buying a book for her friend but doesn't know which one blah blah blah details doesn't matter. The subject matter happened to be something I'm very knowledgeable about so it led to a lengthy conversation. She seemed very interested in me, asking me personal questions ect ect I made her laugh a lot and she was really engaged. Eventually I told her I had to go so I gave her number. She told me very nicely that she tells guys when giving her number that she "doesn't mean anything" implying the obvious. She added me anyway and shot me a text. If it wasn't for that last sentence her being into me was the most obvious thing in the world, to the point where I thought she was going to sell me something. Why do woman do this? Ego reinforcement?

She was also a bit older than me and when I told her I was 22 she was shocked calling me a "baby". A woman turned off by younger guys or what?
