There's a lot of truth there. I know a chick who used to be a sociology major. She got her Ph.D a few years back, and ever since then she has never missed an opportunity to remind everyone that she has a Ph.D.

Because she was such an outstanding academic star, she now gets to enjoy a prestigious career teaching part-time at some shitty little ghetto community college. Amazingly enough, the teaching gig doesn't really pay enough to get by on, so she still has to work as a waitress/bartender on nights and weekends. Still drives the same shitty little Hyundai that's she's had for over ten years now as well.

Of course, with the Covid situation going on, she hasn't even been able to do much of that. She's probably got almost six-figures worth of debt to pay off. I don't know how she's going to be able to handle it. Just keeping up with the rent is a challenge for her. Every time I see her, she's always loudly complaining about something, and she always looks very tired. I don't think that she's had a decent night's sleep in months.

But she's got a Ph.D, so therefore she's "made it." Or at least that's what she tells everybody...

If you pay for college you need to get a degree that equals a job after college. If you don't know what you want to do for work after college, study business. For the rest of you morons getting degrees in social "sciences" and art, congratulations, you may be forced into internet prostitution to pay off those student loans, enjoy.
