Today out of sheer boredom, I was watching the disney channel. Half due to being too lazy to change the channel, half to see what kids these days are watching.

A show called Austin and Ally was on. The gist of the story of this episode is this Austin falls in "love" with a waitress (instantly, because she is hot) and asks her out. Typical oneitis being embodied as completely normal. She says no, basically with no reason, and she hamsters it away with "I'm too busy"

What does he do? He gets a fucking job working at the diner she works at, because if she is too busy, might as well borderline stalk her by getting hired at her place of employment. Once again, nothing out of the ordinary here, according to Disney.

While working there, he BEGS to have her train him, and does completely dumb shit like put his hands into burning macaroni and being just an overall beta bitch orbiter. While working, she divulges that "Music is the only thing that really SPEAKS to her,"and that she is in a band.

Now what does he do? He goes to his girl best friend, Ally, for advice. She tells him he needs to write a song for her! Fucking brilliant! Needless to say it goes horrible and the waitress runs away in embarrassment. He gets mad at Ally and she basically says that he fucked up.

The show wraps up with him singing an even more elaborate song for her and dancing while doing it, she ends it by telling him that she now likes him, and totally WOULD go out with him, but her band just got a record deal and she is moving to LA the following day, to ride that CC that she's always dreamed of.

What REALLY caught my ear was the fact that she told him if she ever comes back, she'll TOTALLY date him. He's just gotta wait for her to get all that strange dick out of her system. The episode ends with him being oddly satisfied at her just having said she liked him.

This is the shit your (i dont have any) kids are watching. Be sure they don't take this shit and file it away in their little brains as normal. Oneitis is ingrained by pop culture, movies, music, etc and is the downfall of most men.

Side note: there were 2 other female characters and they were both obese and abrasive. Subliminal conditioning might indicate that this is now considered normal and acceptable.
