There is no real upside for the man. If you are actually pursuing a serious LTR do not engage in that. You will find just how fast the swarms of orbiters attack. Zero there for the real RP man.

Polygamy and open relations with LTR is pretty disgusting . Only a matter of time before other guys get involved . And if she suggested it I have a bridge to sell you since she was able to convince you didn’t get the raw deal. Women lie about paternity anyway and get away with it everyday polygamy not required

Even in older societies not every guy managed to do it. Still have to have enough status. The average guy couldn't do it, but Asap rocky could.

I believe it does. Cross pollination helps spread the variety of superior genes around. But then you have to factor in the satisfaction/“fee-fees and fragile egos” of the population if polygamy was the default in our society. for high SMV people, they’d be the most satisfied group in this outcome. but obviously lower valued men will feel that they are on the losing end of a polyamorous relationship/polygamous marriage unless it’s one-sided(polygyny). I assume both high value polygamous men and women’s abundance to be that much higher. Conversely Lower value women and men will experience more scarcity and be even less capable of getting a partner that’s above and beyond their own SMV.

You are asking about polygyny, not polygamy. Polygyny is one male with many women.

What monogamy does, and that's sexual socialism, is to distribute women to men that would never get one without help from the state, religion, laws, rules.

That increases the genetic variety, because each human has a pair of gens, inherited from father and mother, and if one parent gave a flawed gen, the other copy compensates, allowing that person to survive.

Because bad genes survive, they get spread on the population, and the population is prone to a lot of diseases.

Under polygyny, there is less variation, because it lowers the chance of propagation of bad genetics. When a children with bad genetics is made, he's more probable to die, so bad genetics are erased.

When a population switches from monogamy to polygyny, initially, more people die, because bad genetics don't survive.

On the long term, the population gets healthier, but in short term, the mortality rate peaks.

That temporary problem would not exist on modern societies, where alpha males are scarce, as percentage, but there are millions of them, so there is more than enough genetic variation.

Polygyny has other, different, beneficial effect. It is that women select the best males, so the percentage of best males increases. It accelerates evolution, and acceleration of evolution is the reason for which sex exist.

Polygyny has to not be confused with inbreeding. Inbreeding is a different thing.

Genetic diversity still has a survival value, so, there is an equilibrium between the benefits of mating with similar people, and different ones, incorporating genetics from strangers.

That's why women are attracted to alphas from their own community, but also are attracted to foreigners, and strange men. They are supposed to bring variety from their own polygynycal society.
