This was (and still is) one of the hardest things for me to internalize.
My work ethic and ambition have given me my career, my business, my education, my house, my body, my friends, my hobbies, my car, and my nice clothes. It was so difficult to learn not to chase men, work for them, and throw my boundless drive into yet another area of my life. Unlike pursuing a degree, learning a skill, or going for a big promotion, putting effort and energy into men would never earn me a positive return on investment.
"It's the year 20-whatever! Women are 'liberated' now! You have to go out there and pursue men and get what you want!"
lol fuck that. LVM don't appreciate work or effort - they're threatened by it. A decent man won't be, but they won't be afraid to take the lead, either. Someone else can pick up the slack for once. I've done enough.

Honestly. FDS made it so clear that it's better to live in peace than to clamor over a dude who makes your life worse. Really, what am I getting? A weeping session once a week? Is this really how I want to spend my life? What exactly is so wrong about being relaxed but alone, instead of stressed and unhappy with someone else for the occassional string of good days? Nah, sis.
