Lol! Good for you. Once you know a man does not care, we lose the need to divulge everything

This guy sounds disgusting and disturbed. I would miraculously feel better enough to pack and leave immediately.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy10/12/20 03:45 PM

Lol same girl. Now when a guy asks that, I go damn..you’re out!

Or trick the next woman better. I’m not giving you feedback for your next victim..

Omg I thought I was trippin, came in here to see if someone else saw it too lol.

He doesn’t see anything wrong with it lol

I said he should figure out why he has been so unhappy lately
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/20 11:14 PM

Lol because I told him he seems unhappy and should figure that out
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/20 06:21 PM

That was in response to me saying he seems unhappy and should work his stuff out. Somehow he thinks the solution to his unhappiness is a woman..
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/20 06:14 PM

Winter blues I guess, I told him I hope he figures out his stuff bc he has been very unhappy/unpleasant lately.

Right, and to compromise our CLOSE friendship of many years.

Hehe I like that

Lol it’s a red flag when a guy says my name intentionally while speaking to me, once gets a pass but if its a theme, RUN.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/20 04:05 PM
15

Yes!! My parents and friends parents always did this when dropping off a friend at home, and then my friends and I adopted that habit when when we got our licenses as teens. TIL this day I still feel wait to drive off before someone gets in their door, I caught myself doing it with some grown men too haha
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/12/20 01:24 AM

Yeah tho not Sam bc that’s a common name. Kinda like Mel for Melissa or Ser for Serena. Sorry about your ex!

My very petite mom does stuff like that if she sees young women being watched by pervy men...she watches them like a hawk.

In the words of Dr. Benjamin Zulu, exes come back to check if you’re still stupid. We have FDS, we are not stupid.

Well I use a nickname on the app (3 letters but it is clear to most that its short for something). I am noticing most men don’t inquire about my name at all, the ones that do ask immediately upon matching. Even my ex only asked on the first date only when I asked him how to pronounce his name..
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/12/20 11:39 PM
7

Yes that is true. I used to mention exes on first dates when I was insecure, I would never do that today. There are ways to bring sup experiences (restaurants, vacations) without mentioning a partner. I know this guy is very fit, which is why I matched with him..I like guys who share my athletic hobbies. And its fine if you decide to join a gym to meet more people...but to share it on a first date is unusual. My profile shows I want a LTR and someone making a comment regarding dating more is a t…

I am not going out with him again. Thanks for the feedback. But curious as to what stuck out the most as the red flag, for learning purposes..

My only respectful ex sexually did not care for blow jobs. Once we were talking and be said he minds finds guys who are obsessed with blow jobs to be perverse..he didn’t get why men prefer that to PIV. He was my first bf, snd thanks to him I have never given a BJ bc I don’t want to. Every guy since has begged for one, I say that’s for marriage lol.

He doesn’t even have a gf, let’s be real. If he was so fulfilled, why is he triggered by this 👸🏽?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/12/20 12:38 AM
9

Yes sis! I I got a DM from a lurker on here that said he is 33 but would never date an older woman, that his beautiful gf is 26 and as long as he works out/makes money he can date youngerp. I’m like okay..good for you? I don’t know what that has to do with me and my value tho! Keep on shining ladies.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy08/12/20 12:04 AM
18

Ha that won’t solve it. I get harassed more than ever in my 30s... I remember walking with my mon as a kid and she got hit on in front of us..wedding ring snd 2 kids in tow..

Yes, and it’s a great way to boost your metabolism so if you care about how you look- you can more and stay slim/toned.

Yes!! The alternative to aging is death. We should control what we can with the days we are gives. Who cares about a wall, no one gets eternal youth..but how are you going to progress through life? Good for you and happy early birthday! And I encourage more women to lift weights! People advised me against it, saying I would lose my feminine frame or get big...nope. I am strong, and feminine as ever, and carry myself with more grace and confidence. It’s a stress reliever and my body feels the bes…

I remember my ex being mad at me on vacation on an island, and we go for a walk on the town to grab a bite. But he is 6’3 and walking fast and way ahead of me. So I just stopped walking and had a seat on a bench , refusing to keep up (i.e. chase after him) He later said the trip was one of the best times of his life, but that memory sticks out to me..I want a man that even if upset with me, will not make me chase after him in a foreign country.

Went on a date last night and I was able to really listen and see pink flags- I told him I am vegetarian and he mentioned he dated 2 vegans in the past and was therefore familiar with restaurants...no need to mention your past dates. I told him about my fitness community and he commented “I would only join that for dating purposes.” I asked him a follow up question and he clarified he would want to be around like minded people. Who tells a date they would join a gym to get more dates. He didn’t …

My best male friend is 38, I am 35. I get dates with 32-38 year old world travelers, successful business men, attorneys, etc. He gets very few dates and they are definitely not in their 20s!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy07/12/20 08:39 AM

F that disrespectful man- one thing is for sure, we are all lucky not to have to be with him. I doubt 25 year olds want him, not any with working eyes, ears or a brain...

Yep what’s funny is the NEXT day after wanting to not pull out when I was ovulating, he ghosted for weeks.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/12/20 05:56 PM
129

Yep I have heard men say that too, that they debate not pulling out if the woman is hot. My ex did it once and had a fit when I wanted to take plan B. Then he asked to do it again when I already told him I was likely ovulating that day..smh. We were not in a long relationship at all.

Cruel and selfish loser

Same. When I read these stories, I promise myself that if I end up married, I will WALK and not even be bothered by such behaviors.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/12/20 09:54 AM
41

This is so true. Every man I know that pursues younger women are men that I would not wish on any woman! They are all similarly fragile, emotionally stunted, immature and noncommittal. It’s so sad. I used to date older men in my youth and thought older women that disapproved were haters...well now in my 30s, I have the same mindset and my disapproval is out of pure concern.

I have had 3 partners and with the exception of the first, they showed aggression and sexual coercion. And I have had plenty male acquaintances act aggressively towards me when intoxicated.

It is. It should be humorous, but it’s profound.

Haha those guys around here want to date women in their 20s-30s. And men in their 30s, want 20s. I am mid 30s and the 45+ guys are the most immature I come across on the apps. Date younger!

I think this is it. Another reminder that spaces and faces aren’t safe/comfort zones 😏

Reading these things remind me of something my ex would do- he would critique everything, how I hugged him, how I showed affection, how I wore my hair (he complained when I styled it). He did it in a way where it did not feel mean, always jokey but it made me feel uncomfortable with him. Now I see he did it to control me and make me feel inadequate.

I was feeling really good today but now I feel a little down. I go to a lifting gym and there’s a sports doctor who has an office next door. He is always friendly and we just wave hello and have small chat from time to time. He has commented on how fit I am a couple times, but I ignore it. Today he chatted me up and was subtly (not so much tho) trying to gauge my age and whether I have a boyfriend. He faked concern that I am isolated during these corona times. He is married with 2 kids. Idk why …

Good for you! I lost track of how many men have said “you know we are on (whatever app), right?” when I remark on inadequate behavior or incomprehensible messaging. I love how they justify their shit with the fact that they are on a dating app, so I should expect less...but I don’t understand that logic. You can put me in a dumpster, but I won’t ever act like trash. Now I just block/delete.

This guy I know said he changed his profile from “something casual” to “relationship” in order to get more women for hook ups...he has no intention on entering a relationship with any of them. I no longer speak to him.

I remember saying this decades ago before I even started dating. I did not understanding committing to a BF and keeping yourself ‘out the game’ if the goal is to get married. Bf/Gf dynamics are just pretending to be married and it can waste several years. I don’t see myself committing to anyone anymore unless we have a CLEAR and reasonable path to true commitment. Btw this is the norm in my parents home country, although western dating practices are creeping in. Over there, you “court” and then …

That’s awesome. She reached her goal (kids) but still lived a full life before raising babies. And clearly she dod a good job if her daughter is on FDS 😁

Yep. My grandmas had babies into their mid 40s. Ans I know sooo many women who had ooopsie babies in their late 30s/40s because they thought it was impossible.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 07:57 PM

So happy to hear this! A woman that put herself first and lived in her truth then the good man happened to come along. How did you meet your guy?

Are you me? Lol I am loving my 30s glow ip too ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 07:34 PM

Hi lady. Do you put effort in meeting new people? I know it is hard due to covid. I listened to this psychologist say that while women should not pursue men, we should make ourselves “available”...meaning being active and social. I wish you luck ;)
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 07:33 PM

Thanks, single at 35 and needed to be reminded of this. I do want babies tho but the more I learn about fertility, the more I realize that ‘common knowledge’ about it is a LIE.

Same here. I treat myself so well, but tolerated shitty dates and was too focused on wanting to be liked. Thank goodness for FDS because those days are behind us.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 05:44 PM
13

I am 35 and asked a similar question on here when a 44 asked me out. In my youth, I dated men up to 10-15 years older. So dating within 10 years at my age now does not seem like a big deal. Some FDS experts said it was still a no no because some men into their 40s will not date women their own age but still seek out 30s women because they want kids. I can see that argument, and I don’t want to endorse any man thinking he can run around and then find a ‘younger’ woman whenever they want to settle…

I remember having a disagreement with my ex and he was angry, he would not stop and communicate. I was upset and just looked him in the eye and said “I am so sad” and he shrugged. Only then did I really feel how little he cares about upsetting me. I have not seem him since.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 03:38 AM

Yes!!! Better to be selective and trained at avoiding LVM and pristinely wait for a HVM. A dabbled in LVM recently, 6 months traumatized me...I don’t know women do it for years and years with an assortment of them. I’m not built for that.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy01/12/20 01:04 AM
26

Ugh something like this happened to me 12 years ago..same facts- neighbor who I saw around and thought it was okay to break in to see me. The guy also had his hands in his pants and I was scared he had a gun too. Poor lady, I sadly know she will never feel safe and alone in her own home again.

Haha my ex lied all over his profile- said he had a grad degree (he had a bachelors), volunteers (was thinking about it), added an inch to his height, listed an employer despite only going to a free orientation at that company, and so on and so forth.

Except in Europe people tend not to multi date even before DTR or discussing exclusivity, which is generally just assumed at the onset. Some of the cultural differences aren’t a result of LV tendencies.

I have not read Kara King but that statement regarding oral resonates with me. Despite being in my mid 30s, I have only had a couple of intimate partners because I don’t like hooking up outside of a relationship. But despite being in a couple relationships, I have never given a BJ. I feel like that is something I would be willing to explore with my husband or someone I feel is my special partner (haven’t found that yet). My last ex kept pressuring me to try one on him and even gave me a demo on …

How often are you seeing each other? If I was only seeing my bf a couple times a week, I would expect some text/phone communication in between. I want someone who is present in my day to day life if we are in a relationship. But if you see him frequently, then it would not be a big deal to me. My ex was not a big texter and it was hard to get accustomed to because I was also used to daily ongoing text chats in the past. When I spoke up, my ex did make sure to text me nearly every morning. We nev…

Well your post equates youth with beauty, but not for aging women. Why is that?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/11/20 03:42 AM

Definitely not. I have done that in the past, and am pretty good at distancing myself from folks. But to be frank, I have done that with a majority of friends over the years and it sucks at times...but for the best. These are friends whose values did not line up with mine.

You’re acting like 40 is ancient, calm down. While I agree he is far too old to date a 20 something, no need to age shame.

Hmm now that you mention it, I can def see him being a narc. Very attractive (looked young for his age, friends guessed 30s). Sharp dresser, perfect responses (well your name matches your appearance, beautiful). Speaks very well..all of it just perfectly played out.

We did not talk about my age actually. AFTER the encounter when he asked me out via text, I first asked his age before answering. He would not have brought it up, he did not care about my age. He just made the comment he “hopes I am at least 28” bc to him age 28 is age appropriate for him, and he did not want to feel like a creepy old man. In person, he just commented on my beauty, my maturity and how I carried myself. He did ask about my hobbies and we got into that, but it was a brief exchange…

Yes, it annoys me that so many people say I look good for my age..mostly younger women and men of all ages. I have heard this since my early 30s. What am I supposed to look like exactly? At 35!

Yeah he was gawking at me and looking at me from head to toe. He complimented me on my looks and said I have an “old soul” and even joked I must be the oldest sibling to be so level headed (I am the baby in the family lol). It’s funny he said that he would never guess I am 35, as if I am old lol..really not a big difference from 28 (7 years is nothing esp if someone takes care of themself). A lot of it is my sweetness/innocence so people think I am young, I honestly think I am losing that innoce…

This may sound bitter but after studying meditation and spiritual teachings for many years, I don’t even know what people are talking about when they say they are “in love”. Love is an emotion and it is intense, I have felt it for friends, family members, etc. It can be an overwhelming intense feeling, but often times it can be selfish/conditional (a fleeting feeling tied to a temporary act or experience). I have experienced true unconditional love- like the feeling of deep respect and admiratio…

Can you explain the difference? As a 35F (lawyer, focused/traditional so never dated much in my 30s), I feel awfully judgmental when I come across men my age or older..I used to date them but now I am turned off by most. A lot of them seem unsure about what they want and I now I think it’s a red flag if you’re 35+ and still single. I am now finding myself more compatible with men in their early 30s because they don’t seem as jaded and they also have this innocence that I think matches mine..if t…

Goodness, this made me sick to read. The author talking about that worry of being happy because she never believed she would have a happy ending, really hit home. I am curious about these stories as well! I think the point of FDS is more about becoming a HVW regardless of whether you get a HVM or not. But for some of us, a partner/family is a goal so it would be encouraging to hear from those who found that on their HV journey.

Good for you for recognizing it and not being in denial. It is hard to walk away from someone we have grown comfortable with. I was in denial with my guy and our relationship was so short...I rationalized or overlooked everything bc I am 35 and want marriage/kids. But now that I follow FDS, I realize I would be putting myself and any potential kids in an awful situation if I stayed with him. Good luck sis!

My ex was like this too. We were both in our mid 30s and he had a high sex drive. Yeah that would weird me out. My dad always said men who announce things (ex: I am a good or nice guy) are usually not what they are announcing. Also reminds me of that Shakespeare quote “doth protest too much.” Who is he trying to convince? That said, I don’t know if I would end it for that alone but it would definitely put me at unease and make me more vigilant. He could just be awkward or manifesting what he wants to be?

Well the honestly thought this time he realized he should follow through with making date plans and he did that. In hindsight, it was stupid of me. I did for a moment think what if he is bitter and stands me up, but we are in our 30s and I thought no way would a grown man do that. He reached out every day leading up to the date, what a loser.

I happened to be listening to an interview today with a happily married couple as I was getting ready for a date (that stood me up). The lady said she was just tired of men/dating and that she basically had every awful experience a woman can have from cheating to disrespect. It’s hard to explain. He isn’t a bot in that I got basic responses but something did feel off but I thought it’s just bc its text and we haven’t met yet. I have the same experience, I go on way less dates since FDS bc most offers are a walk or coffee and I now turn those down. I even put my ideal first date in my profile prompts...but guys still ask for walks. I did have a guy plan a dinner date 4 days in advance after I declined his invite for last minute drinks this week. Another guy asked me to a museum exhibit a week in advance but canceled the day of. Some of these guys seem insecure and can barely get the courage to ask for a last minute date. Honestly its so easy for them with OLD and if they can’t jump on the opportunity that falls in their lap (I matched back and am engaging), they aren’t the men for me! But ugh, so many weak men!

My area is not as cold so we can still do outdoor dining. But many restaurants are getting their patios “winterized” so with heat lamp and some covering, we can still comfortably eat outdoor. It’s actually a neat set up, and I enjoy the ambiance of outdoor dining much more than indoor. Feels very euro, and a good way to support the local economy during what is going to be a hard season (well your date, bc he is paying lol)

This reminds me of my ex who was very against trendy restaurants, but he was just cheap. It’s not even about the trend, but it is nice to get dressed up and enjoy a romantic night out. We never had that. He always treated me, but we never went anywhere that would require him spending more than $10-12 on me and never a place with a nice ambiance. This summarizes the epiphany I had today. Someone posted that J Lo song “I ain’t your mama” and I played it in the car, then it all hit me. How would a man ever love me and treat me right if I don’t demonstrate it to him. I gotta LOVE me and live in my worth, and not some bullshit fleeting moment of confidence. I am not a smiley person, and I won’t pretend to be for anyone. But another thing, is I do have a ‘sweet/shy demeanor’ when you first talk to me, and that has led men to think I am younger and more naive than I actually am. Those guys tend to be idiots. I don’t want a man afraid of my true voice and energy. The man who played me the worst is the one who had the ‘sweetest’ impression of me. The ones I was my true savage self with, never played me and never called me sweet.

But at the same time I have a foreign name, and sometimes guys won’t even inquire about my name or where it’s from. He canceled this morning, he said he is stressed from everything going on in the world and wants to just be with a book. He said he would like to do dinner it was next week. I expressed I was no longer interested and wished him luck.

This happened to me on a FIRST date. The guy wanted to talk politics and I said no, let’s just keep it light and get to know each other. This was during a very sensitive and divisive time in our country. Well be did not agree with my opinions and said “you’re smart but you see things wrong.” Then I asked to change topic, nope he said HE wants to talk about this. Well...I left. F- these guys. Want to have discussions but can’t handle a woman having her own opinion.

Lose respect for your ex and everything he thought or said about you, then the rest falls into place.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/11/20 01:31 AM

Yeah, whenever I discussed turning down a guy with my male friends, they always thought I was being “too dramatic” when I thought I was simply being thoughtful in how to gently turn a man down. Now I get it, men don’t care about our feelings and turning women down. We shouldn’t out so much thought and energy into people who so not so the same for us.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/11/20 03:34 AM

Yes, I was shocked. I have talked to many men in my life and the only vetting they did was with their eyes! It’s like I have PTSD, when he said he wanted to ask me something I legit braced myself for a dick pic or sex request smh.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy05/11/20 01:26 AM

Yeah, i responded in great detail to a post explaining why the fact that we we get so many matches means NOTHING. Then an angry man responded “but you get matches”!!! It’s like me craving a steak and someone saying, well look at all these squirrels outside!

I just encountered a man that vets while OLD! He asked me on a date 4 days in advance, and I accepted. Then while chatting he asked when my last relationship was and when I asked why he had asked, he said he tries to avoid being a rebound. I was put off at first, bc I feel like he should wait to meet me IRL to ask these questions. But he made a comment about dating is enjoyable when you know what to avoid. So its refreshing bc nearly every guy I encounter on app has the sole goal of meeting IRL …

As an attorney, I would advise against it. It’s a cute story but illegal.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/11/20 09:43 PM

But I just looked at my venmo transaction history and everyone’s FULL name is listed lol.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/11/20 09:42 PM

I meant in the venmo app! You can see who you sent money to
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/11/20 09:08 PM
29

Ah ok, didn’t know that. But I thought when you look at your transactions it gives you the details of who you sent your money to...but unless he reports it to venmo, it probably won’t get hum anywhere...and even then, unlikely they can do anything. Maybe that’s why he wanted footage, to press charges.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy04/11/20 07:55 PM

I thought for the first month you only go on one date a week per FDS? At what point should we allow for 2 dates per week?

Hmm thanks for answering! Your explanation if how you behaved allows me to relate to it. I guess I saw myself doing that last year when I entered a relationship with a hot millionaire smh..I became all about him and was adopting his views and opinions. I felt so lucky. I thought I had it all figured out and was insensitive towards my single friend on a trip. But I knew it was bullshit, I think I was convincing myself that all was good bc my instincts told me something was off about him. So then …

I still cringe at my last break up...it was bc of sex. We had sex 2 times in a 24 hour period and when it came to him initiating a 3rd, I tried to get into it but I was clearly tired and uncomfortable. He yelled at me and accused me of faking bathroom breaks (even tho I pee often even during non-sex times, and its a running joke with everyone in my life). Eh I pay $2k a month in rent in my major city, it’s expensive but I want to live in a nice building with amenities, in a safe neighborhood that is walking distance to everything. Sure some would judge me as financially irresponsible just based on my rent, but I spend no more than 18% of my income on my rent...so I think you should put these things in perspective. I still save and invest a lot of my income.

I like this, but it’s hard to resonate with it after so long of being alone. I am 35, have a professional degree/career, volunteer/give back, have traveled the world, and spent years learning about myself. I’ve been in shit relationships that never lasted. Until this year I didn’t realize I was naive about men, but my eyes have finally been opened. Maybe thats what always have been missing, and I am leveling up in that regard. But man, do I want love.

Any tips on how to not feel let down by friends that are much luckier in love? At 35, most of my friends have found their partners and are starting/growing their families. It is a turn off when men do not use complete sentences and type shorthand (u, r, ur). I don’t write the same way I would when on reddit or apps as I would when drafting a work report, but I relay some effort and maturity and I expect the same.

One thing I notice is I talk too much when I don’t feel comfortable or valued around a man I am seeing. It’s like I’m subconsciously seeking validation or trying to convince him of my worth, and I have to blab a lot. I am not a blabber at heart, so I would like to think I can be comfortably quiet around a real love (haven’t had it yet).

I think it’s fine to not text much. He called and set up a date..save the convo for the date! Checking in every so often via text is fine. He just sounds mature in his communication style..incessant texting it annoying and creates false intimacy.

Sometimes it’s your own friends. When I relayed my last encounter with my ex which involved extreme manipulation, my “best friend” asked why I just don’t communicate with him. Lol. Every other person I shared the story with, including men, were horrified by his behavior and advised me to cut my losses. I decided to keep my former BFF at arms length when it comes to my relationships and sharing details or allowing her the space to give me advice.

Regarding the dee conversations, I don’t think that is something he can change or switch on. Some people are simply not deep, philosophical type of thinkers. It would be a dealbreaker for me. But I am wondering how OP dealt with dates/convos with him prior to the first marriage?

I am happy to not be with a LVM, but I do hope to find a HVM partner. I am also happy for my friends who find HVM. I went to a small wedding reception of my childhood friend this weekend, and they are both SO in love. But then I heard she actually popped the question, and I thought of FDS haha.

Not all “18 months” are equal. One couple can see each other every day, another once a week, and some are long distance. And sadly surprises come at even year 10 or 30! You must stay vigilant, always...and use your best judgment and instincts early on. People don’t tend to leave a partner even when they show their full self.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy26/10/20 01:14 AM

Haha agreed!
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy25/10/20 10:30 PM

Actually, I would not be surprised. Men blow opportunities with women way out of their league physically with stupid date ideas, so maybe they would be dumb enough to ask Gigi Hadid to the park lol

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy24/10/20 01:36 PM

Um a man can just make up answers that sound good. Or they may not be self aware enough to truly assess themselves. As the handbook states, pay attention to a man’s actions. Words can be meaningless and have little value with someone you are just getting to know.

I made progress today due to FDS! I “dated” (read: hooked up with) a well connected man a couple years ago. He pursued me hard (for sex) and I was a bit star struck so I guess I let him get away with poor behavior. We remained “friends” and every year when he visits my city or when I would visit his, I would hook up with him (it was pleasurable for me). He has a public platform and conveyed messages that indicate he is quite LV. Well he is in town tonight, and he reached out and..I ignored him! …

He wants to explore his other options. There is nothing else for you to figure out, forget about what his reasons are or what happened that him change. You want a partner that wants to be with you, and he isn’t it. You did nothing wrong here.

I know his ex, she is smart but sweet, kind and cheery..but if something goes wrong or there is a challenge, she just makes basic comments like “it will get better!” rather than digging into things and coming up with solutions and such. He likes to talk and brainstorm, so he seems to be in denial thinking he can find a fun/joyful woman but then wants a serious minded partner when he is facing challenges lol. Delusional, like most men.

He was my first real relationship, it started in my late 20s and he just turned 40..divorced with a kid. I was immature and learned that I did not want to sign up for all that. Also, he was LV in many ways- not a planner, not ambitious, bad finances, poor self care and did not work on his health/ staying in shape...over time I lost attraction. I would not date him had I known about FDS but I am glad my first relationship was not with a sexual deviant or hedonist like most other men lol.

Right lol. I think they think that I THINK I’m a lawyer but really am a paralegal or legal secretary, I don’t know! Even worse is one of my male buddies is an attorney too, and when we around male acquaintances and anything legal comes up, they turn to him for advice and ignore my presence as an attorney completely.

My male acquaintance who makes $300k+ a year recently made a similar statement- he does not care about a woman’s career, he wants someone he can have “fun” with. But he just broke up with his gf because he couldn’t have meaningful conversations with her, he said she didn’t have much insight into things..lol. But at the same time, I know plenty of accomplished men who want the same in a partner. My successful exes would beam when they introduced me to family because not inly was I arm candy, I wa…

My ex was like that..did not care for oral, he preferred to have sex. He actually thought men who were fixated on receiving oral were a bit perverted because in his opinion, regular sex felt better. He loved to go down tho! I was spoiled by him and til this day, I don’t perform oral lol. Maybe for a hubby.

I asked for advice on that too. He asked me out last week but it was too short notice so I declined, told him I was busy all weekend. So this Wednesday he followed up and asked if I would like to go out this weekend, and on Thursday I told him I was “free on Sunday”. He responded “great, we can do Sunday.” I was going to give him until Fri/Sat morn at latest to present plans/times/location bc I wrongly assumed he would make a reservation and such bc I live in a big city. Please notify your landlord immediately, and stop communicating with this neighbor. Years ago I had a weird neighbor who gawked on me often, he later broke into my place while I was home alone. Ok so I’ll give him until tomorrow morning then! I just told him when I am free moments ago, so want to give him a fair amount of time to make plans. I think a day is enough. I guess ideally a guy’s ask for a date already includes the place+time!

I know it is! But I am saying how long do you allow to make a specified date once the guy asked what day is best for me. As of now, I told him I am free on Sunday and he wants to meet then. I don’t want to accept last minute specifics, so was wondering what a good cut off is. I think I’ll give him 24 hours to tell me the place/time.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy15/10/20 06:39 PM
2

Late question but what if 3 days before he does lock down the day but no date plans yet. Example- on Wednesday he asks to meet that weekend and I share I am free on Sunday. He responds “great, Sunday it is!” but does not immediately share plans...I assume he needs time to figure out where to go/book reservations (hopefully). How long should I give him to confirm time+location? I’m thinking by Friday/Saturday morning at the latest or I am not going out with him on Sunday.

I will definitely ask him those questions. I appreciate your points. I am definitely curious about women he typically dates..if I am on the older end, I will definitely drop him. But I am 35 and single and I hear those questions A LOT...questions about why I am single, never married and have no kids. I was a late bloomer, spent my 20s in law school and starting a career..and looking for a relationship now.
/r/askFDS15/10/20 05:41 PM

Good for you in getting to a better place. I’ll definitely be vigilant! I feel the same about now probably not going further than date 3. My most recent ex from earlier this year had so many red flags that I chose to overlook bc he was attractive..honestly, had I read FDS I would have not gone on the first date lol...and definitely not on the 2nd and 3rd etc... I hope I can follow FDS when I am faced in real life situations.
/r/askFDS15/10/20 05:02 PM

Thanks! So even at 35 you had issues with someone 9 years older? When I was 28 years old I dated a 40 year old man and now when I reflect on it, it makes me angry. I thought I was mature but boy I was not..I was so inexperienced and be was divorced. I now find him questionable. I have matured a lot but I know some wisdom comes with time..and I don’t want to make the same mistakes.
/r/askFDS15/10/20 04:39 PM

Hmm that’s how I feel too, esp with FDS, I can’t imagine a man being able to use a power dynamic against me. I suspect he does want to date younger for kids, bc his profile indicates he does want children. I’ll gauge more when I meet IRL!
/r/askFDS15/10/20 04:36 PM
29

Lol thanks. I know its a case by case basis and age doesn’t mean anything with men. But interesting way to look at it...maybe 46 year old women would say he’s immature, he’s just mature to me haha

Thanks! Re #1: if the guy then asks what day then proposed drinks, is it just block/delete? I read posts on here and it seems the FDS way is to just decline/delete. However, it seems some others recommend declining drinks, saying “I don’t drink” or “that’s not the date I am accustomed to.” In my city, it seems everyone does drinks for first dates and I suspect this fellow might..so I want to be prepared!

He has said “I would love to meet you” and “let’s go out next weekend” and I have said “yeah sure!” but he still will not lock down a date/place/time. Old me would ask him what day he has in mind to lead him towards locking it down. But now, I can see he is just too passive and indirect. Yeah, I get it. I am not into pricey jewelry and was never one to daydream of prince charming proposing but I have always wanted a nice cruelty free but vintage looking diamond ring if I were to get engaged. My ex was cheap as hell and would speak negatively about materialistic items and thought expensive rings were a marketing ploy. So I remember looking up ring prices and convincing myself that a cheaper one was better than what I preferred..so pathetic lol. I make 6 figs for the record, as di…

Is it a defense mechanism? The way the women write these comments suggest they did not actually find their proposal special. So instead, when reminded of the fact, they are trying to convince themselves that these things don’t matter...and sadly while doing that, they have to undermine anything that may threaten that (like an expensive/planned proposal). They put down the other women because it allows them to exist safely in their facade. Because if they truly didn’t care about proposals, they w…

Thanks, I suspect he wants to meet now but we’ll see. I just personally have no idea how to respond to these texts bc this is the first interaction with a guy I may possibly like since I recently discovered FDS and read the handbook. My old pick me ways was so casual- I went on a walk date, coffee date, beer garden date just this year..and I turned down brunch/dinner dates lol bc pickme thought it was “too much pressure” for a first meet. I guess I am second guessing just being myself because I …

Thanks for the tips! I always wonder about that deadline :) But what should I say exactly in response to his last message? I usually would say “that sounds good” but I want my response to suggest he needs to put in WORK to make plans.

Thanks!!! Ok he just sent this message after I said okay to his statement about wanting to keep this going despite him being out of town. He said “okay great! We will go out next week but we can talk between now and then.” He didn’t ask me out, but he is telling me? I really think it’s just awkward wording bc he has given no signs of being a bossy jerk. Also he did say he wanted to meet earlier and i said “perhaps” before continuing with the betting. What should I say to let him know that I expe…

Thanks! He just told me that he went out of town for the weekend (his location on the app confirms this) and said that he wants to continue to talk to me. I just said ok, and will see wha the says when he returns on Sunday. If he does ask to meet, and it does not meet the date + location + time requirement, do I just unmatch?
/r/askFDS08/10/20 10:51 PM

That’s a good point! I think I had it in my head that I would meet him this weekend. I have another date this weekend anyway, so its fine..I’ll give this guy a week to ask again!

100% agree. When I do find a guy with potential, he usually is passive as hell and wants to text For ages without asking me out or worse, asks me for coffee. LE SIGH. But I’m glad I’m eliminating them in the betting process rather than wasting my time with LVM. That way when a HVM comes along, we will be able to spot them and not be distracted with losers. Good luck!

Lol i want that struggle tho. I can barely find one guy I’m interested in seeing more than once.

LOL that’s exactly what I said to my friend- he is older but dates younger women and is currently covid heavy but doesn’t like heavy women. Our other male friend said “she has every right to make decisions based on her preference!”

Haha thanks! Unmatched him. It’s not so much the doubt that I can find a tall/fit man (its what I usually date), I sometimes feel bad. I’m super empathetic. I have a problem, once I start chatting with someone..its hard for me to be ruthless about blocking, esp if they have been nothing but pleasant. But I hear you, Thanks for breaking it down. You sound just like me. I was raised by a HVW mom and I was prude as hell throughout my 20s. I got a law degree and started my career before age 25. But I was criticized for being “mean” to guys and “too difficult”, “stand offish” etc. So I tried to be more open and go with the flow. Now at 35, I realize I had it right at 25..go figure. Back to my old, high value ways.

Yep! Good for you too. I am OVER him but I am still upset with the experience/my choices. I feel like covid happening right after the break up has left me single for much longer than I care to be and that I allowed that fool to waste my time. But if I did not go through that experience, when would I learn about becoming empowered? Would I ever seek out FDS? I would probably still be a pick me. So I am glad I got to this place. And sure, I am 35 but in the grand scheme I am still relatively young…

I met my ex in Sept 2019 and we broke up in Feb 2020. He showed me who he was in Sept 2019 but I spent 5 months in denial, walking away at times only to return. I discovered FDS in September 2020 and a week later, my ex reached out. I am SO thankful I disxocered FDS because I happily ignored him. I am working on forgiving myself for the mistakes I made with him, but I know it will only get better with my new found perspective. Thanks ladies!

Weird! I am watching this right now and started to make a post but did not. I am new to FDS and naturally, I am analyzing the documentary through the principles. It’s so upsetting. Yes I love my family but I come from a culture of arranged marriages. I have had TOUGH times with them when it came to not wanting to be “set up” by the parents of other men who “selected me” because I had “failed” to find a spouse by age 30 on my own (btw I was not even “looking” for a spouse in my 20s). My family and I are still super close. The thing is, real love can overcome these challenges..we adapt and accept. Maybe my initial response to OP seemed harsh but that’s what my 10+ year exper…

Unfortunately family can be the biggest critics and you have to decide if you want to live for them and their expectations, or your own. I’m single in my 30s so trust me, I have heard it for the last 10 years from my family too. They come from a good place but it really doesn’t matter if it’s not aligned with my own beliefs and values. It bothered me back then too, then I learned ☝🏾

Your “friend” sounds awful, honestly. I’m learning to distance myself from toxic people that make comments that serve no purpose other than to be hurtful. It’s your bed, your sleep and your puppy. What does that have to do with having a boyfriend or not? Couples sleep with their puppies too. People don’t sleep with their pets as replacement partners 🙄

Thanks! I agree. And I don’t even show my body on the app (I have a full body but nothing super tight)..it ends up being the opposite of cat fishing bc guys who I do meet with (very FEW bc most are trash on apps), end up super surprised. My friends said I should put a pic of me working out or in swimsuit, but nah..I don’t want to lead with my body. I honestly work on my physique for ME.

But most couples I know that recently met in their 30s and 40s are in the same age range, maybe a few years difference. In fact my 43F friend is in a relationship with a 38M. Aure my 30s+ guy friends like younger women, but they rarely end up in relationships with them. I know many 20something women too, they are not dating men well into 30s or 40s. So again, lies.

I’m not sure but when people ask where I am from, if I state my home state they then clarify where I am from ethnically because they don’t think I look “American.” Also, my name is not English. I hate men who do this. Thankfully most men are still gents in my city, opening the door, stepping aside, etc. But with yuppies on the rise, I run into more and more dorks who just don’t get it... I walk so fast because I have long legs so I usually do the dodging of all people..

Hmm good point! Maybe I feel shame about it because it pertains to my appearance (among other things). I’m still a “spiritual tomboy” type of woman, so this development later in life is new. I did NOT take care if myself in my 20s...my hair couldn’t grow bc I abused it, I had vitamin deficiencies, I was skinny but unhealthy, I did not eat very well, I did not meditate, toxic friendships, etc. I guess these habits are positive have paid off. And its kinda weird to peak in your 30a lol. I am waaay…
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy29/09/20 12:16 AM

I don’t work out to be hot for guys. I lift weights and purposefully avoid being skinny, which most guys seem to prefer. I just love working out, it makes me feel good, I have a community around it, and it is so empowering getting stronger and fitter as I age and being able to see the results. But otherwise, I like your suggestion..thanks!

Wow I relate to this. I’m not on any social media but I do keep up to date with most things health, fitness and beauty related. I also alternate between extremes- where I’m hippy dippy and let my hair go long and wild and then there are times, I want to look more “girly” for lack of a better term. I found guys that didn’t ask me out with the first week would never do it. So I give it a week unless they state they went out of town..but I still expect expression of interest to go out when they return, within a week of matching.

Yeah, I joined DOT with a throwaway account while recently in a bad situationship...wish I sought FDS advice and saved myself the time. But glad I found FDS before he reached out again. I can barely tolerate DOT posts now that I am an FDS convert but sometimes I appreciate having a perspective of older singles..

Yes, I’m new to OLD but so far I have found 90% of men on there are lying about something. I live in a big city and come across many profiles of men I know, a lot of them lie about their age and height. I even came across a recently engaged family friend on an app. Nearly every man that has arrived on a first date was not as tall as they claimed..and not as fit as their pics indicated. One guy used an old pic where he was younger and leaner...he was supposedly only 5 years older than me (35F), a…

I met a guy at a park event and we had a great convo. He asked me out for that night but I said I had plans. We exchanged numbers and be immediately asked me to a comedy show the following week (I mentioned liking live comedy, he does too). He purchased our tickets, we had met beforehand for drinks (he paid). It was going so well! Then during a lull in the show, he takes his hair down from his man bun and shakes it down, then leans in for a big kiss. I pulled back and shook my head..embarrassed …

YES! My mom taught me well, she never even dated..she married my dad at 19. But she always taught me self respect and that most men are trash. I followed her advice most of my life, completely avoiding dating until I finished law school and became an independent women in my mid-late 20s. Because I was late to dating world, I was told by peers that I was too intimidating, reserved or difficult. So I completely abandoned all the principles I was taught to “try and give guys a chance.” Well, I only…

You don’t know the dynamics of their relationship, whether they broke up or do open dating. I probably wouldn’t do anything about it personally, unless I knew they were still in an exclusive relationship. If they are still together/exclusive, then I would send an anon screenshot.

I was a 35F desperate and worried about finding a husband to start a family with. After FDS I feel so free and light about everything. I’m much calmer and level headed about dating. And I have never ignored my exes in the past, always taking them back when lonely. I have ignored TWO exes who are trying to reach me since FDS. Sooo thankful! I would be out there wasting my time with them.

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy22/09/20 03:28 PM

I dated a guy for 6 months and when we got into a disagreement, he used the silent treatment on me. It was the first time I dealt with that, and I later learned it was a form of emotional abuse. It was a short relationship but damn, 7 months later and I still a bit scared from it...

We have mutual friends, and I didn’t mind sharing my number...if he came correct, I would have considered going on a date. But he only texted sporadically and boringly, so I lost all interest. And FYI I did tell him he should just accept people or leave them be. He went silent. I just think its odd to go off on an acquaintance in this way bc you don’t like their phone etiquette!

Last time I saw him was in December while we were hanging out in a group, he asked for my # and said something about me being out of his league. Trust me, don’t contact him. I got out of a bad relationship in February and it ended so shitty and I wanted closure sooo bad. I wrote out a long note to him and a male friend suggested not send it, saying it would not resolve anything for me and it would likely leave my ex feeling good that I am still so wrapped up in our breakup. I agreed to hold off on it for a month, but then when I revisited, I decided I did not care to express anything to him. I worked on myself, focused on my health and e…

Haha well thats the kicker- there are no fancy restaurants of this food in my city. I told him where the restaurant was (I would never pick where a 2nd date is but thought it was cute he wanted to try my peoples food)..he could have looked up the menu and discovered entrees are $10-15 max! I am also an attorney in a major city, likely make more than him so he should have realized I don’t need his damn money or food

/r/FemaleDatingStrategy14/09/20 08:11 PM

I’m the same exact way! My orgasms aren’t obvious to all guys bc I am not vocal, but I can tell (hearing goes out, leg trembles, etc.). But once that happens, I am DONE. I want to roll and over sleep haha.

I have curly thick hair...it’s big and takes effort in the mornings so I prefer to get it blown out some weekends where I can get 3-4 days easy wear out of it (I don’t wash my hair every day). I have a membership at a local blow out bar. When I started dating my ex, we mostly went out on weekends and one day he asked what my natural hair was like..then he asked to see it curly bc he likes curly hair. Eventually he saw it curly when we met up midweek. He then complained when I would straighten it…

Oh man this is how I feel about my last relationship. I ignored my guy instincts. At one point, I followed my queen energy and walked away.. then doubted myself and went back bc I have always been told I was “too difficult” with men. Ugh.

I am a high earner and live a mostly simple lifestyle, so I think he liked that....his money would be safe. He cooked and did stuff around the house tho. But glad its done.

I had proof of his wealth but I agree. He wanted to settle down but would constantly tell me I should “not give up my independence” and keep my career lol. He would lecture me about how I am wasting my money because I like living in a nice place- but I can afford it and its none of his business. He also asked if I sought him out bc his $$- mind you, he approached me and asked me out. And what exactly was his money doing for me? Guys with 1% of his wealth treated me to much much more. Yeah I lear…

My ex was cheap but also a self made millionaire. I wish I left after date 1: a blanket on the grass. Date 2- a free event at the art museum. He once paid to fix a broken appliance for me, I asked how much the parts were and he said “don’t worry about it, I got it..it’s no more than $50.” I thought it was sweet given his frugalness LOL. I was recently at the home improvement store and saw the part he purchased for me- $4! I swear in the 6 months we dated, he probably did not spend more than $50 …

I can relate. I am so embarrassed that I begged my ex to stay after our fight that did us in. I still cringe reflecting on it. We gotta forgive ourselves and realize we will never learn and do better if we did not have this experiences and later realizations. I try to look at that experience as a lesson I am lucky to have, for future experiences. Some women never have that ability to reflect on this stuff properly, and that is the real travesty. Good luck sis!

Yeah I noticed that too. He seems to have overshared his dating history, but I don’t know the full context. He responded to her having a friend over by saying “oh do I just saw this chick I used to date (but it was a group trip) and oh yeah I dated this other chick a couple months ago too.” Wtf. How is this relevant to your relationship? Yeah, sounds like he is either young and awkward, or just wanted an out.

I like to be honest too and based on experience I would never say I want a relationship bc guys somehow thinks it means with THEM..no mofo, I want one with someone qualified and I don’t know your credentials yet. So I think I would say something like “I want to date and get to know people, I’m only open to something serious if I meet someone worthwhile.” Its truthful and sends a message. What do you ladies think?

I’m 35 too. I took A LOT of time to heal after my last break up. I put in work before that short relationship but I’ve put in even deeper work since then. More than anything, I truly value myself now. For the first time, I feel detached while dating..also haven’t found one I am fully into. And I’m okay with that. I’m patient, I live the good life..and until I find someone worthy of my time/energy, I am focusing on continuing to improve myself and living the lifestyle I always dreamed of. Btw I m…

I feel the same about BJs, most guys did not mind but the last guy I dated asked a couple times and it became a “running joke” where he would make a bet on it and a BJ would be his prize. I always told him it was not my thing, and that I never did it much so not any good at it..:he proceeded to show me how to give a good one using his own finger to demo. Even showing me how to not tire my neck. Lol, I still never gave him one.

How do you balance being affection and feeling for someone with also being ready to bounce at a moments notice (if he acts up)?

Is it reasonable to ask someone to not speak to an ex?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy09/09/20 05:44 PM

Well 3rd time within 24 hours I guess. We slept over for night and we had sex that morning, and the eve before. Only once did we see each other and not have sex. I have a high sex drive too but he had the highest libido, esp for a guy in his mid-late 30s. I def think he was an addict because he said he masturbated frequently and even used pics from women on social media (clothed women!!)

He said that my exes still communicating with me (2 of them, on occasion only) would get in the way of us developing something. Funny he had an issue with it before we were even exclusive.

I don’t recall..I just remember trying to power through it even tho I was not enjoying it. He would accuse me of lying about having to pee sometimes, but I am literally known amongst my friends/fam for my shitty bladder. Looking back maybe I was starting to lose attraction in the bedroom because although he was attractive, he wasn’t a great pleaser. It was more for his enjoyment. Also, he was likely insecure because that night before bed, he was googling a B list actor I mentioned dating right b…

My ex (of 6 months) and I broke up earlier this year after he yelled at me during sex. I pee frequently and am often sore (I lift weights), but he got agitated if I had to interrupt sex for a change in position or to pee. He is the ONLY partner I had this issue with. One night I tried to not be vocal about discomfort (we already had good sex twice that day) but eventually I asked to change positions (earlier we discussed different positions that would work better for me, but he still liked his s…
