I work in a large organization as a junior engineer. All has been well and I have been trying my best to maintain professional relationship with everyone.
However, today while on my duty, there happened to be a misunderstanding with an office assistant regarding who was to forward my report to the department manager (my supervisor). I gave the work to a third party (also an office assistant) to forward. Since he had to enquire why I had not submitted the work as per office protocol, he called the first office assistant/ secretary, with the phone on loud speaker.
From the other end, the office assistant talked ill about me saying how confused I always am, not knowing that I was also listening on the other end.
I understand that I am relatively new, and the youngest in the organization, though I know that I am really good at my work, and all my supervisors, and those I have worked with, hold a similar opinion.
I'm just confussed on how to proceed from here, since the office assistant is the secretary to my supervisor. Any advise is much appreciated.
