Posting here as well because I was TRP for two years, been gone for two, but I’ve posted here on other TA’s & usually get the best help from you guys :)
So my gf and I have been together for two years, (it’ll be two years next weekend to be exact) and the first year was great. Romantically, we were happy, sexually, we were happy, and going out was a lot of fun. This last year though, we’ve gotten closer, which has manifested in her acting like an overgrown child who can’t focus on anything besides what she wants to do and I believe that (mixed with the worlds current situation) has led to some of our romance dissipating. To simplify, we can’t really have sex right now, and my gfs reasons for that are legit, but there’s nothing on her end to indicate she wants to be sexual with me anymore, which is why I’m considering leaving the relationship. I keep myself in shape, care for my looks, and get attention from other girls in my day to day life, so I don’t think ive suddenly become unattractive all of a sudden. Whenever I try to be romantic or sexual with my gf (which was a lot until maybe a month or so, when I began to get really down and indifferent about it) she doesn’t really respond in kind, and I’ve been getting more and more frustrated with this since March. Even kissing makes her uncomfortable, because she’s always worried about getting caught or heard by people in public (we have to hang out a lot in my car) or by her family in her place, which are understandable but frustrating because she doesn’t really make up for it emotionally. We’ve had arguments about this before, and she’s been really defensive about it, so I’ve just been coasting these last few months hoping it’ll get better once we have more opportunities to get away together.
A couple of nights ago, she brought up whether or not I thought us talking about stuff like kids stuff, even stuff like bowel movements (wish I was kidding) would kill the romance in our relationship. Her bringing it up the other night was a shock to me, and I didn’t want to start a fight, but I did mention how she’s always tired, uncomfortable, etc, and she just said she was talking about how we’re not emotionally romantic to one another. I told her I don’t see her writing love letters to me either, and she just said “shut it” in a playful way and that was that. This had come after her not wanting to fool around again earlier in the night, and I was dejected, because you can only be rejected so many times before wanting to give up. I’m conflicted because a lot of this isn’t her fault, but she doesn’t really put in an effort romantically (or assure me sexually, not actually being sexual is fine given our situations), so I don’t know what to do. I’ve tried my best to keep things fresh fun and romantic, but she’s more interested in acting platonic, and only after she brought it up did things change a bit. I’m not really sure what to do, and will be happy to answer anything you might be wondering about our relationship before you give me advice.
Tl;dr gf brought up fear of our relationship having 0 romance in it but I feel it’s already dead & given how she acts don’t know how to help
